Updated 15:49 2 Nov 2026 GMTPublished 14:45 2 Nov 2026 GMTThe business aircraft nosedived into a neighbourhood in Palm Beach County and exploded, killing all six on boardA young woman who was understood to have been the co-pilot on the private jet that plummeted to the ground in Florida has now been identified. She has been named as Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, who was just 20 years old, and had got her pilot license while still in high school. She was one of six who were confirmed to have died when the Learjet 60 aircraft suddenly nosedived to the ground before erupting into a ball of flames.Nathalia was previously interviewed by CBS12 News aged just 17 after obtaining her private pilot’s license in 2023, before she even had her driving license.Advert“I definitely do brag because people say, ‘oh you can’t drive,' and I’m like, 'yeah but I can fly,’” she said at the time.Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras shared selfies in the cockpit on social media (itsnatfilg/Threads)In pictures posted on social media, Nathalia had shared snaps of her in the cockpit of jets, including one post on Threads where she wrote: "LearJet60!!!!! ALL GLORY TO GOD! AMEM!"The Learjet60 business jet involved had nosedived into a neighbourhood in Palm Beach County and exploded, narrowly missing nearby homes and businesses.Transportation secretary Sean Duffy posted on X on Sunday (1 November) that the Learjet 60 crashed at 12.50pm local time close to Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate, calling it a 'horrific tragedy'.The jet was travelling from Austin, Texas, and was bound for the Bahamas when tragedy struck.Young aviator Nathalia previously told the media she began pilot lessons in 2020, but was also taught by her dad, who learned flying some years prior."I think it’s cool," she said. "Some people think that it’s weird that I can fly planes, but I can’t drive a car, I mean I can but, a lot of people think it’s funny."Most of the posts on her online Threads account showed selfies and photos of her beside jets and sharing her passion for flying.Nathalia has been identified as one of the co-pilots (@itsnatfilg/Threads)Investigations into cause ongoingThe cause of the crash was not immediately clear, but federal investigators are expected to provide an update on Monday. It was suspected that 'sPilots and aviation experts have told LADbible that 'severe icing' and weather conditions could have caused the plane to plummet and explained exactly how it happens.Palm Beach County authorities evacuated about 600 people from a nearby mobile home community while the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigate the crash.Police at the scene of the crash (Saul Martinez/Getty Images)According to flight tracking services, the plane was heading east at 35,000 feet when the pilot started to report problems. The pilot said ice was accumulating on the jet and that turbulence was jolting it by as much as 700 feet (213 meters), according to air traffic control recordings shared online.“We have light, clear ice that is manageable and moderate turbulence,” the pilot told controllers before the situation deteriorated. The pilot requested permission to climb another 2,000 feet then quickly declared an emergency as the jet lost altitude at an alarming rate.“We’re descending 8,000 — mayday, mayday — we’re descending 10,000 feet per minute,” the pilot radioed.“We are in an overspeed condition descending 20,000 feet per minute,” the pilot radioed, before delivering a devastating acknowledgment of what was about to happen: “We’re going to crash into the ground.”Florida governor Ron DeSantis said there were no immediate reports of anyone on the ground injured or killed.Governor Ron DeSantis talks to the media (Saul Martinez/Getty Images)Authorities have not released the names of the people who died.“It was a cataclysmic plane crash,” he told reporters at the scene. “It looked like a missile going down and left a big crater on the side of the road.”Video recorded by passers-by captured the terrifying moment the aircraft plunged from the sky before slamming into the ground and exploding. The plane erupted into flames (X)Flames flickered around chunks of pavement lining the crater as shocked residents looked on in horror. Why the West Palm Beach Jet Crash Left Almost No Wreckage New

Why the West Palm Beach Jet Crash Left Almost No Wreckage

Updated 12:48 2 Nov 2026 GMTPublished 12:41 2 Nov 2026 GMTAll nine people on board the aircraft have since been confirmed deceased Warning: This article contains content which some readers may find distressingLast night (1 November), footage emerged of a Learjet 60 smashing into the ground on a road in West Palm Beach, Florida, before exploding into a frightening fireball. All nine passengers and crew onboard the aircraft have been confirmed deceased, following an announcement from US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy. The identities of those onboard have not been publicly released. The US Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are now investigating the cause of the incident, as numerous theories about what could've contributed to the crash circulate online.AdvertQuestions have also been raised about the lack of recognisable wreckage at the crash site, with several aviation experts now explaining that this is due to the speed at which the jet collided with the ground. The aircraft had been travelling from Austin, Texas, bound to the Bahamas (Saul Martinez/Getty Images)According to released cockpit audio, the jet had been descending at 20,000ft a minute and most likely slammed into the ground at a speed of around 340 mph, meaning that the aircraft would've shattered upon impact."The energy transfer breaks apart the aircraft fuselage," DeWitt Ingram, a Learjet type-rated captain and founder and president of Par-Avion Group Aviation Consulting, told local outlet CBS 12 News, adding that the only remaining parts of the plane will likely be the landing gear or engine components.Meanwhile, aviation attorney Zachary Gorwitz gave a similar analysis to the Miami Herald, saying that the 'incredible force of the impact' meant the lack of debris was 'really not surprising'.The frightening crash was captured on dashcam footage (X)Cockpit audio releasedAudio from the plane's cockpit was shared online moments after the crash, with a female crew member heard issuing a mayday call to Air Traffic Control. We're descending 8,000. Mayday, mayday! We're descending 10,000 feet per minute. Declaring emergency 722 Bravo Delta. We are in an overspeed condition, descending 20,000 feet per minute," the crew member can be heard saying. "We're going to crash into the ground."We are descending 22,000 feet, and we are banking 60 degrees... Look outside. Holy f**k, we're out of time."(LADbible/FlightRadar/Saul Martinez/Getty Images)Weather may have played a role in plane crashThe crew member had also mentioned the presence of 'severe icing' during the plane's final moments, leading people to speculate whether or not this had caused the fatal crash."When an aircraft flies through clouds containing supercooled water droplets, those droplets can freeze on contact with the aircraft," Justin Crabbe, commercial pilot CEO at Jettly, a global private aviation broker platform, told LADbible."Even a relatively small amount of ice can significantly affect how an aircraft flies and how turbulence can also impact an aircraft."Severe icing means ice is accumulating at a rate that the aircraft's anti-icing or de-icing systems may not be able to adequately manage."Ice changes the shape of the wings, reduces lift, increases drag and can make the aircraft much more difficult to control."Featured Image Credit: XTopics: US News, Travel

Why ‘Severe Icing’ Is Under Scrutiny After Florida Learjet Crash New

Why ‘Severe Icing’ Is Under Scrutiny After Florida Learjet Crash

Updated 12:05 2 Nov 2026 GMTPublished 12:03 2 Nov 2026 GMTCrew were heard talking about 'ice' and 'moderate turbulence' before the aircraft fatally crashed to the ground and killed nine peopleAn aviation expert and pilot has explained exactly what 'severe icing' is and how it could have caused the devastating Florida business flight crash that killed all nine people on board.A business jet nosedived into a neighbourhood in Palm Beach County and erupted into a giant fireball that appeared to just miss homes before crashing near a busy road, leaving a huge crater in the ground.Videos recorded by people inside their cars captured the terrifying moment the aircraft plunged from the sky, before striking near the road and exploding.Transportation secretary Sean Duffy posted on X on Sunday (1 November) that the Learjet 60 crashed at 12.50pm local time close to Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate, calling it a 'horrific tragedy'.AdvertThe scene of the fatal plane crash (Saul Martinez/Getty Images)The Federal Aviation Administration sent a team to the scene to support the National Transportation Safety Board’s investigation in Florida into the cause.Currently, there are no reports of anyone on the ground being struck and killed, but all nine people on board the jet, travelling from Austin, Texas to the Bahamas, have died. The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation, but devastating cockpit recordings have revealed the final moments on board. In the clips, it is indicated that the crew warned of 'severe icing' and adverse weather and turbulence at 35,000 feet. It is being probed whether this was the reason, or whether another failure was to blame. "The consequences of ice can be catastrophic"Speaking directly to LADbible, Justin Crabbe, commercial pilot CEO at Jettly, a global private aviation broker platform, has explained exactly what ice on the wings means and how it can impact the aircraft.Justin Crabbe is CEO of Jettly (Jettly)He has discussed what the mention of 'ice' means in the audio, explaining how it usually accumulates on the wings, tail or windshield and what the term 'severe icing' really means for an aircraft and how it can make a plane more difficult to control."When an aircraft flies through clouds containing supercooled water droplets, those droplets can freeze on contact with the aircraft," he explained. "Even a relatively small amount of ice can significantly affect how an aircraft flies and how turbulence can also impact an aircraft."Severe icing means ice is accumulating at a rate that the aircraft's anti-icing or de-icing systems may not be able to adequately manage. "Ice changes the shape of the wings, reduces lift, increases drag and can make the aircraft much more difficult to control. The Learjet 60 plunged from the sky (X)"In severe conditions, the aircraft can lose performance very quickly, particularly if the pilots are unable to exit the icing conditions.Justin said the presence of ice could've 'worsened' the situation if the aircraft was already fighting through turbulence, explaining: "One possibility is that ice accumulation degraded the aircraft's aerodynamic performance to the point where it could no longer maintain sufficient lift. "If the aircraft was also encountering significant turbulence, that could have made an already difficult situation worse. The flight map for the aircraft (Getty)"Ice can increase an aircraft's stall speed, meaning it can stall at an airspeed that would normally be considered safe. If the aircraft entered an aerodynamic stall at an altitude where recovery wasn't possible, the consequences could be catastrophic. "Cockpit audio alone isn't enough to establish what caused the crash. Investigators will need to examine the aircraft's performance, weather conditions and flight data before drawing conclusions."How pilots respond to icing conditionsJustin also explained exactly how trained pilots are set up to deal with icing conditions on an aircraft, especially if the situation becomes 'severe'."Pilots are trained to anticipate icing conditions and avoid them wherever possible," he said. "Most aircraft certified for flight into known icing have systems designed to prevent or remove ice from critical surfaces. "If icing becomes severe, the priority is to get out of those conditions immediately, whether that's climbing, descending or changing course. "Pilots will also monitor airspeed and aircraft performance closely and coordinate with air traffic control. The important distinction is that while many aircraft can safely operate in certain icing conditions, severe icing can exceed the capabilities of even properly equipped aircraft. The safest response is generally to exit those conditions as quickly as possible."In a new statement to LADbible, a spokesperson for the Federal Aviation Administration said: "A Learjet 60 crashed in a residential area near Cresthaven, Florida, around 12:50 p.m. local time on Sunday, Nov. 1. "Nine people were on board. The aircraft departed Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas and was headed to North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas. "The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate. The NTSB is in charge of the investigation and will provide all updates."Featured Image Credit: Saul Martinez/Getty ImagesTopics: US News, World News

Private Investigator Reveals Five Jobs He Often Sees in Cheating Cases New

Private Investigator Reveals Five Jobs He Often Sees in Cheating Cases

Updated 16:48 1 Nov 2026 GMTPublished 13:37 16 Nov 2025 GMTIt doesn't mean they are going to cheat, but a private detective has spotted some patternsExperienced private detective Paul Evans has seen a lot in his time, including the jobs people do which make him think they're more likely to cheat.Plenty of private detective work is done on behalf of suspicious spouses to work out whether that other person in their life really is cheating on them or not. Those who do it for a career have developed their own ideas about the signs you usually see and what the red flags of cheating behaviour are, and for Evans there are five fairly common jobs he's seen time and time again.Explaining his work to Metro, the private investigator from I-Spy Detectives explained how these careers brought the mixture of skills and opportunities needed for cheating and getting away with it.AdvertUnfortunately, there's quite common jobs so you'll find they give a lot of people a lot of opportunities."You can turn me off and on again any time you like." (Getty Stock Image)The IT departmentYes, those helpful souls who are always there to fix your computer when something goes wrong and turning it off and on again isn't working are apparently prone to cheating, according to the private detective.Of course, we all love our IT teams, they're the real heroes of any workplace and I'm not just saying that to butter them up in case I need their help. However, Evans said he deals with 'more cases in the IT sector' then expected and they have another skill which aids them in their cheating.Apparently, IT professionals are good at covering their digital tracks when it comes to cheating so it can be hard to trace them, and they've got a ready made excuse if they're always on their phone to someone else that it's a work thing."This is our itinerary for the trip and this is the hotel room we'll boink in." (Getty Stock Image)Sales repsThis is a job where you get to travel around, meet lots of new people and possibly stay in hotels a long way from home, which opens up a lot of opportunities for cheating. The private detective said these people were 'persuasive by nature' which helped them stay on top of the social side of cheating, and explained that he'd followed sales reps around and found they were cheating with 'colleagues and sometimes randomers' at the bar of whichever hotel they were staying at.Flight attendants get to travel away from home a lot, so it's easy not to get caught (Getty Stock Image)Flight attendantsOnce again there's lots of travel and staying elsewhere, and Evans says that flying great distances can 'increase temptation' and 'boundaries can quickly fade' when you're half the world away.He said: "We investigated a married flight attendant who frequently worked long-haul."She started to become distant, and when we looked into it, she had been meeting a pilot from another airline during her stopovers. They had been booking into the same hotels for months."Ouch."Another day of horrible impersonal interactions with people, anyone fancy an orgy?" "Yes." "Yup." "Yeah." "Count me in." (Getty Stock Image)Call centre workersYou probably wouldn't expect it, but the private investigator says people who work closely together and 'are under pressure every day' can form some quite tight bonds. These friendships which are formed so people can get through the day's allotment of work stress then 'cross the line' as people are just so close to each other for so long."Guys, we know you've been f**king in the storeroom, but Denise called dibs. Find somewhere else." (Getty Stock Image)Medical professionalsThis one you could probably guess. They do some remarkable life saving work but ask the question of which profession is most likely to cheat and you'll get loads of people who worked in hospitals saying they know plenty of stories.High stress and close proximity play a role, and Evans said he knew of one case where a nurse was having an affair with a doctor on night shifts and hooking up in a spare room in the hospital. That sort of thing does happen, one married surgeon even walked out in the middle of an operation to have sex with a nurse who was very definitely not his wife, with the pair caught in a 'compromising position' in an operating theatre that wasn't being used at the time.Featured Image Credit: Getty Stock PhotoTopics: Community, Sex and Relationships, Jobs

Baba Vanga’s 2027 Predictions Include a Chilling Superhuman Twist New

Baba Vanga’s 2027 Predictions Include a Chilling Superhuman Twist

Updated 02:49 2 Nov 2026 GMTPublished 02:38 2 Nov 2026 GMTBaba Vanga’s ‘predictions for 2027’ include superhuman pandemic survivors and an AI-fuelled gold surgeAnd her prediction for 2028 is even wilderSo-called psychic Baba Vanga may have made terrifying – and intriguing – predictions for 2027 and with the year marching closer, Unilad is examining what she is believed to have prophesised. The blind Bulgarian psychic born in 1911 is said to have developed psychic abilities after a childhood accident left her blind. She did not write down her predictions – instead they have been handed down second hand by others - most significantly through her niece Krasimira Stoyanova.Followers claim she foresaw the election of President Obama and the 9/11 attacks, though none of this can be verified. She died in 1996, leaving followers to interpret her predictions against what has already happened in history and current world events, reports Sky History.AdvertSo far none of her predictions have been proved, however what she leaves behind offers a curious and sometimes terrifying glimpse into the possibilities of the future.Psychic powers will become widespread, some of Baba Vanga's followers believe (Getty Stock Images)People will gain superhuman powersOne prediction Baba Vanga made concerned a disease, which she does not name, but does say will ravage the population of the planet. However, not everyone will die and some survivors will be left with superhuman powers through what has been interpreted as a ‘genetic experiment’.Baba Vanga’s own powers were alleged to have originated from what would otherwise be considered a disaster – her psychic powers were reported to have been the result of a tornado that lifted her from the ground and left her blind.Gold prices may surge, if the prediction is to be believed (Edwin Koo/Bloomberg via Getty Images)Gold prices will surgeThe psychic is said online to have predicted that gold prices in 2027 would increase by 25% or even up to 40%, although some have disputed whether she ever made this claim.Several theories have been put forward as to what could spur such a rise in the price of gold - ranging from a cash crisis which could see currencies devalued and a flight to buy gold as a ‘safe haven’ for capital - to the huge demand for gold in data centers fuelled by the boom in AI.If Putin is gone by the beginning of 2027 it will be momentous (Photo by Contributor/Getty Images)Russia will have a new leaderBaba Vanga commentators have also said she predicted Russia’s leader Vladimir Putin would not be leader of the nation by the beginning of 2027.If this turns out to be correct, Russia could be plunged into a crisis as rival factions battle to fill the power vacuum left by Putin’s absence.Alternatively, he could be removed by a rival potentially even more authoritarian.Either way, such a huge shift would have knock-on effects to the war on Ukraine, fuel prices and the wider world economy and stability. An 'artificial sun' or fusion reactor is currently being developed in Hefei, China (Photo by Chen Sanhu/VCG via Getty Images)What’s on the cards for 2028?Baba Vanga reportedly made one of her most seismic predictions for the year after next. After years of relying on fossil fuels and now struggling to transition to more ecologically attractive alternatives, humanity may instead develop a new energy source already being worked on in 2027.One theory suggests this new power source could be nuclear fusion, which has long been a goal of scientists because of how stable and reliable it could be – and it is expected to be low carbon or even carbon neutral. So while 2027 itself could be tumultuous, if we are lucky 2028 could see humanity gifted with a powerful new way to forge its future.Featured Image Credit: (X)Topics: Baba Vanga, World News, Vladimir Putin

Martha Stewart Sparks Backlash Over Controversial ‘Hungry Person’ Halloween Costume

Updated 17:21 1 Nov 2026 GMTPublished 17:07 1 Nov 2026 GMTShe's since taken one of the posts with the costume downMartha Stewart has been criticised for a Halloween costume where she appeared to be dressed as a poor person holding up a sign saying she was hungry and in need of help.Strange Halloween costumes are par for the course in celebrity world, with Heidi Klum typically taking the cake, but there was a lot of backlash for Martha Stewart as she shared pictures of her spooky season costume to social media. An Instagram post featured some of her candles in a carousel of images, but the most controversial one was an apparent Halloween costume of a poor person with a sign saying: "I am hungry. Help me!!"The post is still up on Facebook (Facebook/Martha Stewart)AdvertA similar post is still on her Facebook account at time of writing, while over on Instagram her next post had comments turned off and she hasn't yet engaged with various other comments criticising the post elsewhere."We all saw, Martha," one person commented under her new post, followed by: "Are you trolling us after last nights post?".Another meanwhile asked: "Nah, where that other post?" after it appeared to have been removed.Someone else said 'the level of out of touch is stellar' as others pointed out it was in 'poor taste' to dress up like someone going through financial hardship for a funny costume."I’m not particularly sensitive to Halloween costumes, but this is upsetting… she’s standing outside her mansion wearing this," one Reddit user penned.Others questioned whether it was an 'AI deepfake hack' as they thought it might not be real, but Stewart's account has taken the post down and offered no explanation as to what else it might be but a Halloween costume.Martha Stewart has received a lot of backlash for the picture (Arturo Holmes/Getty Images for God's Love We Deliver)There were however a handful of voices saying they thought the costume was 'hilarious' and something they really enjoyed, as one person commented: "It's Halloween ppl. My gosh not everything is meant to be taken so serious."Another said: "Can everyone just calm down?"Stewart is famously obsessed with Halloween and has debuted dozens of highly elaborate costumes over the decades for magazine covers and parties.A blog post on her website lists many of her most memorable looks over the years, including a regal outfit as the Queen of Halloween for her 2024 cover of Martha Stewart Halloween, and as 'FairyGrand Martha', showing her in a flowy pink dress and wand as she cosplayed as a fairy godmother. And, in 2017, she donned a look inspired by Roy Lichtenstein's pop art, wearing a blonde wig and heavy makeup to create a 2D comic book effect on her face and clothing.Halloween may be over for another year, but if you were thinking of cosplaying as as someone in need of food you might want to reconsider your costume choice.LADbible Group has contacted Martha Stewart's representatives for comment.Featured Image Credit: Kristina Bumphrey/Variety via Getty ImagesTopics: Celebrity, Halloween, Social Media

Macaulay Culkin Sparks Backlash Over His Halloween Face Paint

Published 15:59 1 Nov 2026 GMTThe color of his face paint and the lighting in the photos have split opinion on X and RedditMacaulay Culkin’s Halloween outfit this year has become the subject of heated discussion across social media. The actor dressed up as the soldier from the famous ‘thousand-yard stare’ World War II meme, wearing an army hat and dark green camouflage face paint, according to posts on X.His look has since drawn criticism, with some users on X and Reddit saying the paint resembled blackface, while others have rushed to defend Culkin. The row centers on how the costume appeared in images shared online. Under reddish lighting, the dark green camouflage paint was mistaken by some users for blackface, although defenders have stressed that it was military green.AdvertReaction to the costume has been mixed on X. One user wrote: “It’s not a blackface, but it’s kinda inappropriate and clueless considering how many war conflicts happening in the world today.”Their comment does not describe the paint as blackface. Instead, it takes issue with the costume itself, citing the number of conflicts taking place around the world.Other users reacted in different ways. One wrote: “I'm so used to the Ishowspeed version,” while IceY posted: “This year’s Halloween costumes aren’t scary.”Those defending the actor have focused on the color of the paint. Commenters said it was military green, chosen to match the soldier portrait the costume was based on.They also said the dispute stems from how the images were lit and from how the source material was read. In their view, critics had misinterpreted both. The conversation has also spread to Reddit, where a thread about the costume was posted in the r/popculturechat community.Celebrity Halloween costumes have a long history of sparking backlash.Julianne Hough dressed as Uzo Aduba’s 'Crazy Eyes' character from Orange Is the New Black, with a controversial use of blackface. "But it’s kinda inappropriate and clueless considering how many war conflicts happening in the world today.”"I get what you were trying to do but this is by far the worst way to execute it," penned another. However others hit back in a Reddit r/popculturechat community and on X, making the clear comparison to the meme, which is based on a 1940s painting. The 'thousand-yard stare' meme (Thomas Lea.)It was only later that the image was internet-repurposed as visual shorthand for intense burnout. One user wrote: "It's obviously green/olive paint that they use as camouflage."As another added: "Macaulay Culkin nailing the thousand-yard stare soldier meme is a top tier Halloween costume" followed by: "It's sad ppl think this is anything other than the thousand yard stare."And, an AI-correction on X clarified the image, responding: "The image shows Macaulay Culkin with green face paint recreating the thousand-yard stare meme from a 1944 Tom Lea painting of a grimy WWII US Marine, not blackface."LADbible has contacted Macaulay Culkin's representatives for comment.Featured Image Credit: Emma McIntyre/Getty Images for Academy Museum of Motion PicturesTopics: Macaulay Culkin, TV and Film, Halloween, Celebrity
