Why Emma Stone Was Named the World’s Most Beautiful Woman New

Why Emma Stone Was Named the World’s Most Beautiful Woman

Updated 14:59 6 Nov 2026 GMTPublished 14:17 12 Nov 2025 GMTShe beat out some other big names to top spotEmma Stone turns 38 today (6 November) but compliments from her husband might not be enough, since science has already decided that she's the most beautiful woman in the world. Apart from being talented and famous, the Poor Things actress also has this prestigious honour to her name, although if your girlfriend or wife asks you if you know the answer to this question, be warned that the only right answer is them. While her charms might not have worked on Nathan Felder, after he admitted that he 'felt nothing' during their love scenes in comedy series The Curse, the American actress has won the heart of the Dr Julian De Silva, who's own study found that Stone has the best face card in the business. The envious title was decided using something known as the 'Greek golden ratio', which assesses a celebrity's face by drawing a line which divides it into the proportions 1:1.618.AdvertThis then creates the ideal dimensions for a face, judging by the distance from the top of the nose to the bottom of the lips, having a more voluptuous bottom lip and also assessing the size of your forehead and shape of your eyebrows. While Jodie Comer was previously thought to have claimed the title, the study conducted by Dr Julian De Silva, who runs the Centre for Advanced Facial Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery, has judged that the Oscar-winning actress is now the 'clear winner'.Dr De Silva explained: "Emma Stone was the clear winner when all elements of the face were measured for physical perfection. She achieved top marks for her eyebrows (94.2 percent) and high marks in all the other categories."She has a near-perfect jawline with a score of 97 percent and beautifully proportioned lips at 95.6 per cent. She came top because of her consistent excellence across all the Golden Ratio elements."Sometimes it's hard to argue with science (TheStewartofNY/GC Images)There's clearly something in the water in Hollywood, as fellow actors Zendaya and Freida Pinto completed the top three, with the likes of Margot Robbie and Jenna Ortega also earning spots in the top 10.Full top 10 list belowDr De Silva also clarified exactly how the scientific process works, in case you were thinking of testing it on yourself. He said: "These brand new computer mapping techniques allow us to solve some of the mysteries of what it is that makes someone physically beautiful, and the technology is useful when planning patients' surgery."While Jonathan Bailey recently made history by being crowned the world's sexiest man, it's another rugged movie star who claims the men's title according to the new study, with prospective 007 Aaron Taylor-Johnson claiming that crown.Stone was crowned the winner (John Nacion/Variety via Getty Images)On the men's side, it's Lucien Laviscount and Paul Mescal who complete the final three. Far from Normal People after all, eh Paul?Dr De Silva concluded: "'Aaron was the clear winner when all elements of the face were measured for physical perfection."His 93.04 per cent score would easily make him the most handsome James Bond in the history if he does land the role as expected."Remember, lads, if your wife or girlfriend asks you if you've seen who the most beautiful woman in the world is, it's a trick question. The answer is always her. Most beautiful women in the world, according to the golden ratio10) Beyoncé - 92.4 (Justin Sullivan/Getty Images)9) Tang Wei - 93.08(Chung Sung-Jun/Getty Images)8) Aishwarya Rai Bachchan 93.41(SAMEER AL-DOUMY/AFP via Getty Images)7) Margot Robbie – 93.43(John Nacion/Variety via Getty Images)6) Olivia Rogrigo - 93.71(Frazer Harrison/WireImage)5) Jenna Ortega - 93.91(Frazer Harrison/Getty Images)4) Vanessa Kirby - 94.31(Don Arnold/WireImage)3) Freida Pinto - 94.34(Stefania D'Alessandro/WireImage)2) Zendaya - 94.37(Marc Piasecki/WireImage)And of course, the top spot went to Emma Stone!Featured Image Credit: Jamie McCarthy/Getty ImagesTopics: Emma Stone, Science, Celebrity, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Zendaya

Nathalia Filgueiras’ Father Speaks After Hearing Her Final Cockpit Words

Updated 20:51 6 Nov 2026 GMTPublished 20:22 6 Nov 2026 GMTAllan Filgueiras said his daughter is a 'hero' for how she handled the horrific situationThe father of the 20-year-old co-pilot who died in the devastating private jet crash in Florida has spoken out for the first time, saying she fought 'until the end' after hearing the cockpit audio recording of her final moments.Allan Filgueiras says the November 1 death of his daughter, Nathalia Filgueiras, left him searching for answers. In his grief, he said he listened to her final words in a cockpit recording as she was Bahamas bound after departing from Austin, Texas. The Learjet 60 aircraft was carrying technology entrepreneur Adam Robinson, his wife, Helen Sharp, their two young children, nanny Ana María Ramírez Cetina, and couple, Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr.Advert55-year-old Jeff Gregory was the pilot-in-command alongside co-pilot Nathalia, and all nine people on board died instantly in the crash.Speaking at a news conference today (November 6), Allan said: "I did listen to that many times trying to find a clue. In my head. How'd that happen? And wow, she's tough."Nathalia Filgueiras was co-piloting the Learjet 60 when it suddenly began plummeting to the ground (@‌itsnatfilg/Threads)'She made me so proud'Her final moments were heard in recordings that have been released to the public, in which she is heard calling 'mayday' and explaining to air traffic control that the private Bombardier-made jet was 'banking' and in a nosedive as it fell 20,000 feet per minute. Her father, a pilot himself, said he was proud that despite the terrifying situation, she continued to declare updates to air traffic control."For the family — it's like having the heart torn from my chest," her father said, as reported by NBC News. "I have to find a way to go on living.""She showed me what it is to be a hero because once you see that coming, a lot of the big boys — military or whatever — they can't handle. And she was the one over there to the last minute fighting," Allan said."She made me so proud."Allan Filgueiras said his daughter Nathalia is a 'hero' (NBC News)'She was extraordinary'Stuart Grossman, an attorney representing the family, also spoke of Nathalia at the conference, as he said the investigation will answer questions people have about the crash. He said he wanted to clear up any misconception that she was not experienced enough to co-pilot the let as he said of the aim of the conference: “The purpose of this is to preserve not just her memory but her reputation. Nathalia was beyond an average pilot; she was extraordinary.”The National Transportation Safety Board has launched an investigation into what happened to result in such a tragic event, and they announced earlier this week that they believe the jet may have ‌broken up before hitting the ground at high speed."The weather conditions are a major focus of the investigation," NTSB board member Tom Chapman said, per Reuters."We do have some evidence that there was some breakup of the aircraft before impact. We may find parts of the aircraft some distance away from the actual impact site."Featured Image Credit: @‌itsnatfilg/ThreadsTopics: Plane, US News

Why the Katy Perry-JonBenét Ramsey Theory Still Gets Attention New

Why the Katy Perry-JonBenét Ramsey Theory Still Gets Attention

Updated 14:03 6 Nov 2026 GMTPublished 12:30 25 Mar 2025 GMTThe 'Firework' singer commented on the theory despite police in Colorado confirming JonBenét had diedThroughout the years, there have been many conspiracies surrounding the death of pageant winner, JonBenét Ramsey, but the belief that she is Katy Perry is pretty out there. For those who may not know, the unexplained death of JonBenét has been baffling people since the youngster tragically lost her life around Christmas in 1996. At the time, the six-year-old was found dead in the basement of her parents' home in Boulder, Colorado, and an autopsy revealed she died via strangulation, with a homemade garrotte found nearby.AdvertNow, even in 2026, JonBenét's murder remains unsolved, and while some think her family had something to do with it - despite them denying it for three decades - others think the child never actually died at all.Instead, they believe she grew up to become Katy Perry, and before you roll your eyes, there are a lot of 'clues' theorists have pegged as potential evidence.Where did the theory begin? While Perry herself has only recently shared her thoughts on the theory, it's something that's been floating around for more than a decade. It seems like it all started in 2014, when a seven-minute video titled 'JonBenét Ramsey is singer Katy Perry' went viral with a string of claims which linked Perry to JonBenét.The original video has since been deleted, but it claimed that Perry's parents were actually John and Patsy Ramsey - the parents of JonBenét. It further claimed that her death was actually part of a plan to allow her to become famous.More recently, an AI-generated video showing JonBenét morphing into Perry aimed to highlight the physical similarities between the pair.Katy Perry has been pegged as being the little girl (Photo by Tibrina Hobson/Variety via Getty Images)'Links' between Perry and JonBenétTo back the claim, internet users have pointed to similarities in Perry and JonBenét's bone structures, particularly in their eyebrows, jaws, and noses.Another piece of 'evidence' in the theory stems from a 2011 interview Perry conducted with Vanity Fair, in which she reportedly made reference to JonBenét, who was a child beauty queen prior to her death.Perry is quoted as saying: "Not that I was one of those stage kids. There was no JonBenét Ramsey inside of me waiting to burst out."Some theorists have speculated this comment was actually a hint at Perry's real identity - despite her saying she was effectively the opposite of JonBenét.JonBenét was just six when she was killed (Netflix)What have people said about the theory?Despite the fact that police in Boulder have spoken extensively about JonBenét's death, the theory took the internet by storm and appeared to convince a lot of users.Writing on X in 2022, one person wrote: "Before we end 2022 I just wanna say that JonBenet Ramsey is actually Katy Perry…"Another X user claimed to share a whole thread on the theory, writing: "Why we know that Katy Perry is JonBenét Ramsey, a thread."Perry herself also weighed in after she saw the AI-generated video, simply writing: "wait am i."The theory is flawed (Getty Stock Images)Problems with the theoryAgain, beyond the fact that police have confirmed JonBenét to be dead, there are a number of holes with the theory. The first is the fact that Perry was born in 1984 - making her five years older than JonBenét, who was born in August 1990.Perry was also, as I mentioned, born in California, in comparison to JonBenét who was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Finally, Perry also has her own parents, Mary Christine (née Perry) and Maurice Keith Hudson.Featured Image Credit: Theo Wargo/Getty Images for Tribeca FestivalTopics: Celebrity, Conspiracy Theories, Crime, Katy Perry, Viral

Dirty Sanchez star Pancho revealed the quiet man behind his wild persona New

Dirty Sanchez star Pancho revealed the quiet man behind his wild persona

Published 14:36 6 Nov 2026 GMTHe also recalled an incident with former Premier League footballersDespite his on-screen antics, Dirty Sanchez star Pancho had previously opened up about being a quiet person in his personal life. The MTV icon, who was best known for his role in the reality stunt and prank series, has sadly passed away at the age of 47, with tributes continuing to flock in for the Welshman.Although he had plenty of memorable moments in the four seasons of Dirty Sanchez, away from the screen Pancho, whose real name was Michael Locke, was a far more laidback character.Back in 2021, Pancho was invited on to a YouTube podcast where he revealed more about what his life had been like since the show concluded in 2007, as well as if he was truly like his on-screen persona.AdvertHe said: "I've had professional football players come up to me with 50 sambucas, saying 'down them all, we'll give you £5,000.' I'm an actual human being. Don't get me wrong, I used to like to get very inebriated. But that's not the real me."The real me is a mellow character. I'm a very passive person."Following the conclusion of the show, which did boast over 60 million viewers but never quite reached the fame of the American version Jackass, Pancho would go to become the co-owner of streetwear brand San Portablo, which was set up in Port Talbot in 2016 by former Tata steelworker Nigel Hunt.He ended up starting a fashion brand San Portablo with Nigel Hunt (Instagram)Later in the podcast, Pancho said: "I'm not a fighter by any means. I'm not a tough man. I'm a mellow person. But there's some pain which is quite nice."Of course, the stunts which we saw on screen didn't reflect that too much, with Pancho at the heart of one of the most repulsive moments in the show when he fermented another person's fat before asking 'Joycey' to drink it.Tributes have been flying in for the Welshman since his death was confirmed this morning via his clothing brand San Portablo on Instagram.A statement shared by his friends and family on the social media site said: “It is with profound sadness that San Portablo and the Locke family write of the passing of the father, son, brother, uncle, friend, skater, stuntman and all-round goodfella Michael Richard Locke.“Affectionately known as Pancho to the world, an absolute Welsh Treasure and San Portablo King. His brilliance we are sure will still shine through far wide high low and across the seven seas. He lived an incredible life and lit up the world with his charm.“Rest In Peace brother, your legend will never cease, it will only gain momentum.”Pancho got up to a lot of on screen antics in his time (Jonathan Wood/Getty Images)Meanwhile, one of Pancho's closest friends and co-stars Matthew Pritchard has also shared his reaction to the tragic news. "I'm still a little bit in shock," he said."My little friend of more than 35 years has left the building."We've had some amazing laughs together over the years. I've known him since he was about 14 years old."Of course the Sanchez years, travelled all over the world with him, been in some classic messes with him in the past partying. Now he's gone but I'll never forget him."Featured Image Credit: Instagram/panchatronicTopics: Celebrity News, Entertainment

JonBenét Ramsey’s Brother Breaks His Silence Over Crucial DNA Evidence New

JonBenét Ramsey’s Brother Breaks His Silence Over Crucial DNA Evidence

Updated 11:07 6 Nov 2026 GMTPublished 07:57 6 Nov 2026 GMTNetflix’s The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey starts next month, with Melissa McCarthy as Patsy Ramsey and Clive Owen as John RamseyBurke Ramsey, the older brother of JonBenét Ramsey, has renewed a public plea for authorities to find her killer almost 30 years after she died.Speaking to the Daily Mail this week, Burke, 39, claimed police overlooked DNA evidence that he believes would fully eliminate his family from the investigation."The DNA says we didn't do it. I know none of my family did it," he said. Pointing to himself, he added: "I didn't do it.... You know, it's like, stop. There was this energy looking at the family, but the DNA is sitting right there."Burke said DNA found underneath his sister's fingernails did not match any of the family. Advert"We need to find that match. It's the best evidence we have," he said. "It's probably the person who did it, you know, and it's the best chance we have to solve this."JonBenét was six when she was found dead in the basement of the family's Boulder, Colorado, home on December 26, 1996, some seven hours after she was reported missing.A lengthy ransom note demanding $118,000 had been found on a back staircase that morning, and her death was ruled a homicide, but nobody was charged.Burke Ramsey, pictured in 2016, has spoken out for the first time in 10 years (YouTube/Dr. Phil)Who killed JonBenét Ramsey?Netflix's 2024 title Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey? examined three main theories. The first points to her parents. Former Boulder police detective Steve Thomas wrote in JonBenét: Inside the Ramsey Murder Investigation that he believes Patsy strangled her daughter after accidentally causing a head wound, and that John 'chose to protect his wife'.Patsy's lawyer, L. Lin Wood, called the claim 'fiction and utter nonsense' and said it was 'refuted in its entirety by medical evidence', per the New York Times.Suspicion initially fell on the parents because the $118,000 ransom demand matched John's Christmas bonus from work, and the note was thought to have been written on Patsy's stationery. The second theory is that an intruder was responsible. There have been three main theories into her death (Helen H. Richardson/ The Denver Post)John and Patsy's book Death of Innocence suggests a stranger entered the home, and DNA evidence pointed to an 'unexplained third party', though nobody matched the profile.John has campaigned for modern DNA testing, telling NewsNation: "I believe if we do that, there's a really good chance we can solve it."A third theory pointed to Burke, who was nine at the time.Experts interviewed for a CBS documentary claimed a flashlight at the scene matched JonBenét's head wound, but the flashlight was ruled out as being involved. He took legal action over the claims, suing CBS for $750 million in a case that was settled in 2019.When does the JonBenét Ramsey Netflix drama come out?JonBenét Ramsey was six when she was found dead in the basement of her family’s home in Boulder, Colorado, on December 26, 1996 (CNN)Netflix is revisiting the case again. The eight-part The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey starts on December 10. The cast includes:Melissa McCarthy as Patsy Ramsey Clive Owen as John RamseyEmily Mitchell as JonBenét RamseyGarrett Hedlund as Det. Steve Thomas Alison Pill as Det. Linda Arndt Shea Whigham as Alex Hunter Owen Teague as Shane Edwards Clifton Collins Jr. as Det. Even visiting in prisons with people who have committed terrible crimes.“It's part of our calling as men and women of faith, to love and serve anyone. It is the sick that need healing.”Brand captioned the post, 'Me, Bear Grylls, The River Thames and of course, The Holy Spirit' (Instagram/@russellbrand)Grylls, who struck up a friendship with Brand when he appeared on his reality show Running Wild, added: “Judgement is for the courts and God… I wouldn’t want to ever discourage someone’s coming to faith.“It is right that justice has now been served.“I can’t imagine how hard this time has been for the victims, the heroes of the day.”At the time of the baptism in 2024, Brand shared a photo on his Instagram page of Grylls and a third man hugging the comedian in the River Thames.Brand captioned the post: “Me, Bear Grylls, The River Thames and of course, The Holy Spirit.”After receiving backlash over the baptism, Grylls told Metro in August 2026 that ‘I think all our faith changes and evolves, and I’d also say I have many doubts as well'. He added: "I really struggle with so much of it."Brand's sentencing will be on Monday (Toby Shepheard / AFP via Getty Images)“But I don’t know, I think at heart, my faith says we’re connected together and we need each other, and not to judge people and to love people,” he said. While using the phrase, ‘What would Christ do?’, Grylls said: “I really try and keep that as that compass in my life. I don’t know. It’s like I say, I’m not super religious, but I do try and just start the day as a discipline on my knees and to say sorry, and to say thank you, and then to say help for the day ahead, and then I crack on with it.”On Thursday, a jury convicted Brand of four offences committed against four different women between 2004 and 2009.He was found not guilty on three other counts, which included two charges of rape and one of attempted indecent assault.Brand was found guilty on one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault (Leon Neal/Getty Images)David Roberts, Senior Crown Prosecutor in the London Rape and Serious Sexual Assault Unit, said: “Russell Brand was predatory and used his celebrity status to commit sexual crimes. He was a manipulator with an insatiable desire to get what he wanted regardless of whether consent was given or not.“As his career took off, he seized opportunities to assault the women around him. Although his tactics varied, at the centre of every assault was an abuse of power and sexual greed, with a complete disregard for the impact of his actions.“I would like to thank all the women in this case for their courage in coming forward and seeing this sexual abuser brought to justice.”Metropolitan Police chief Sir Mark Rowley said he would not be surprised if ‘many more’ alleged victims now came forward.Brand remains in custody ahead of his sentencing on Monday. If you have been affected by any of the issues in this article and wish to speak to someone in confidence, contact the Rape Crisis England and Wales helpline on 0808 500 222, available 24/7. Inside Ana Escobar’s Home After Learjet Wreckage Tore Through Her Kitchen New

Inside Ana Escobar’s Home After Learjet Wreckage Tore Through Her Kitchen

Published 20:44 5 Nov 2026 GMTThe Learjet 60's 'elevator' component is being investigated as a potential faultNew images that show the aftermath of the moment parts of the private jet that nosedived to the ground in Florida tore through a woman's home. The Learjet 60 was en route from Austin, Texas to the Bahamas and carried seven passengers onboard alongside two crew members when it crashed at high-speeds and caused a deep crater.Since the November 1 crash, a major investigation has been launched to find out what caused the crash to happen. As of now, the possibility that severe weather conditions may have been a factor, or that a component of the plane was torn from its position on the tale, is to blame.AdvertAs of now, the nine people on board have been identified as tech entrepreneur, Adam Robinson, 45, his wife, Helen Sharp, 40, their two children, Emma, two, and Charlie, four, the children’s nanny Anita Maria Cetina and couple, Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr.Parts of the jet allegedly damaged a woman's home (WPBF25 News)The pilot was Jeff Gregory, 55, and his 20-year-old co-pilot Nathalia Filgueiras.According to Tom Chapman of the US National Transportation Safety Board at a press conference that they found 'the majority of the aircraft's left elevator' in three pieces between 1.3 and 3.8 miles away from the West Palm Beach crash site, which has since caused a number of theories to emerge. One is that the elevator fell off as a result of the plane nosediving, or that it coming off the plane is what caused it to crash. In images that have since been revealed to the public after they were obtained by WPBF 25 News, parts of the elevator were found to have torn through a woman's kitchen. The photos appear to show aircraft metal on the kitchen floor of Ana Escobar’s home, less than a mile away from the site.It also shows her ceiling with a gaping hole through it.Chapman told a press conference Tuesday: “It tells us that at least some components, some pieces of the aircraft, important pieces of the aircraft separated before the impact."The NTSB say that by collecting remaining debris from the crater, they'll be able to find out what really happened to the jet that led to its crash. But first, they need to drain the water from the crater, which they believe holds 'critical aircraft components'.Filgueiras was co-piloting the Learjet 60 when cockpit audio captured her telling air traffic control (ATC) the plane was going down, and fast. She first reported ‘moderate turbulence’ before telling the ATC: “Mayday mayday... we’re descending 10,000ft per minute.”She then said: “Declaring emergency, declaring emergency, we are in an overspeed condition.”The air traffic controller replied to her: “I’m here with you, talk to me."However, she answered: “We are descending 22,000ft, and we are banking 60 degrees.”Her final transmission heard her telling them: “We’re out of time.”Her family told the New York Post that she had also text her boyfriend, Justin, before the crash with details of the flight that allegedly read: “I’ve got turbulence, I’ve got ice.”Featured Image Credit: @‌itsnatfilg/ThreadsTopics: Plane, US News

JonBenét Ramsey’s Brother Reveals the DNA Clue He Wants Retested

JonBenét Ramsey’s Brother Reveals the DNA Clue He Wants Retested

Published 23:07 5 Nov 2026 GMTBurke Ramsey has spoken out about the case for the first-time in a decade JonBenét Ramsey’s brother says there’s an overlooked clue that could be key to solving the case of who killed his six-year-old sister.Burke Ramsey was just nine-years-old when his sister JonBenét was brutally murdered in the basement of her home in Boulder Colorado on Christmas Day in 1996.Her family found her body the following day, near a ransom note demanding $118,000 for JonBenét's return. An autopsy determined that JonBenét had died of asphyxia by strangulation associated with craniocerebral trauma, and the case was ruled a homicide.AdvertThe shocking case prompted the most expensive criminal investigation in Boulder’s history and a 2003 breakthrough uncovered trace DNA belonging to an ‘unknown male’ on JonBenét's underwear. However, despite several leads and a 30-year investigation by cops no one has ever been charged or convicted with her murder.Burke Ramsey has spoke out about his sister's murder (CBS)Her older brother Burke, 39, has now spoken out for the first time in a decade in the hopes of bringing renewed attention to the case as he says he ‘wants this solved’.Speaking to the Daily Mail, Burke said that the killing of his young sister was the ‘most tragic… awful thing’ to ever happen to him and that it’s ‘tough’ to have it come up in the news every 10 years or so.When asked how he believes the case could be solved, he said the focus should be on determining who the mystery DNA belonged to.“We need to find that match. It's the best evidence we have,' he told the Daily Mail.“It was underneath her fingernails and it didn't match any of us. It's probably the person who did it, you know, and it's the best chance we have to solve this.“And I want it solved. I don't know much about the scientific nitty-gritty and it's hard to learn the details of the case, because it is emotionally taxing. But they need to send those samples to different labs again and keep testing.“Find the match. That will go a long way to bringing justice. It's been 30 years and enough is enough.”Burke went on to stress that the DNA exonerated his family from any involvement in JonBenét’s death, after previous heavy speculation from the public.“The DNA says we didn't do it. I know none of my family did it,” he added.JonBenét's dad thinks a 'masked intruder' is responsibleIn previous interviews, Burke and JonBenét’s dad John has said he believes that an intruder is responsible for the heinous crime.John Ramsey has previously shared his theory on who he believes did it (Helen H. Richardson/ The Denver Post)Speaking to PEOPLE in 2024, he shared his own theory on who was behind the shocking crime but claimed police ‘blew it off’.John told the publication about the case of a masked intruder who broke into the home of a 12-year-old girl in Boulder nine months after his daughter’s murder, and attacked the girl before running off.He said he believes the intruder, who was never caught, could ‘easily have been the same person’ who killed his daughter.“The police blew it off as, ‘No, it's not the same,’” he added. The family’s story is set to be the focus of an upcoming Netflix drama series The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey, which will star Melissa McCarthy as mum Patsy Ramsey, Clive Owen as John, and Angus K. Florida Learjet Crash Draws Attention After Tail Parts Found Miles Away

Florida Learjet Crash Draws Attention After Tail Parts Found Miles Away

Updated 21:04 5 Nov 2026 GMTPublished 16:55 5 Nov 2026 GMTThe plane wreckage, footage of the crash and flight tracking data all provide potential cluesAs the investigation into what caused the deadly plane crash in Florida over the weekend continues, new findings are giving experts a clearer idea about what might have happened. The Learjet 60 was en route to the Bahamas from Austin, Texas, but during the planned trip, the jet came down in Palm Beach County, leaving a large crater in the ground.Tragically, everyone onboard – pilot Jeff Gregory, 55, co-pilot Nathalia Filgueiras, 20, entrepreneur Adam Robinson, 45, his wife Helen Sharp, 40, their toddlers, Emma and Charlie, their nanny, Anita Maria Cetina, and another couple, Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr – lost their lives. As of now, federal authorities are investigating the crash and the subsequent debris field stretching half a mile.AdvertAlthough we're still waiting on the results of the National Transportation Safety Board's (NTSB) investigation, experts are able to speculate about the plane's final moments based on what's been found so far.Part of the jet was found miles awayOfficials with the National Transportation Safety Board say severe weather played a ‘significant factor’ in the crash, but also that part of the jet appeared to have broken off before impact. The NTSB confirmed that the majority of the Learjet's left elevator – a control surface on the tail – was found in three pieces. The Learjet 60 came down on November 1 (Saul Martinez/Getty Images)Board member Tom Chapman said in a briefing that the parts were 'quite some distance away' from the crash site, leading investigators to determine they fell off before impact."Knowing that it was lost is a very important piece of evidence in terms of pointing us towards other things to investigate," he said.Another component of the jet may have been missingAccording to freeze frames from videos, it appears that the entire horizontal stabilizer was missing from the Learjet’s tail before impact, Law&Crime reports. However, this hasn't been officially confirmed. The horizontal stabilizer provides pitch stability. Two competing theories as to when the left elevator broke offExperts are split on when part of the plane's tail broke off.Aviation Safety expert Jeff Guzzetti told the AP that the pieces of the elevator breaking off were likely to be a byproduct of the nosedive, but not the cause. He said that if they had broken off at altitude, they'd be much further away from the crash site.Former NTSB member John Goglia has a different theory, pointing to the fact that flight tracking data appeared to show the aircraft leveling off for a few seconds at around 8,000ft (2,438 meters) before it began to nosedive to the ground. How the plane lost altitude (Facebook/JeffnCheryl Corbin-Gregory/Threads/itsnatfilg/Family Handout)The expert told The Guardian it could be possible that tail pieces came off when the captain of the plane attempted to pull up sharply in an attempt to level out.“He apparently leveled off for brief moments at 8,000ft and to accomplish that he likely overstressed the tail and the horizontal stabilizer separated from the airplane,” Goglia said. The jet could have been put under extreme conditionsRetired former Northwest Airlines pilot Captain David Funk spoke with Law&Crime Network to reveal his thoughts on the matter. To him, the elevator – which he says is positioned at the top of the tail – requires extreme pressure to break it off.He said a plane would have to be 'overstressed and it takes a lot of force to pull an elevator off the airplane'.It caused a crater (Photo by Saul Martinez/Getty Images)Pointing to tracking information which showed the jet 'gained 15,000, maybe 20,000ft in less than 20 minutes' due to a developing storm in the area, he said when the jet climbed to the upper altitude levels above 30,000 feet, 'severe turbulence and rapidly developing clear icing is a possibility'.He said the model in question would be able to withstand only certain speeds, between its maximum operating speed and stall speed."If either one of those are exceeded, the airplane either goes into Mach tuck where the nose tucks down because of the severe drag that's caused by exceeding its maximum Mach number or it stalls."He said this would 'cause the nose to drop down' and the plane could struggle to maintain its altitude. The crews' working conditions will be investigatedIn light of the crash, Captain Funk says investigators will examine whether the pilots had been fatigued, overworked or if this was less of a human error and more that the jet was at fault. He said: "We have our knowns and we have our unknowns. We can figure out what the crew's training records were. We can figure out what they've been doing for the last two weeks. Were they overly fatigued? Have they had long day after long day with short nights between them?"He added of the jet that 'the maintenance records' will come to light which will show if there were known 'structural issues with the tail and there been any repairs, any cracking, any airworthiness directives' and more.He asked whether this could have been a case of the pilots being caught in an 'unsurvivable' storm, or something more.Featured Image Credit: InstagramTopics: Plane, US News

Why UK Fireworks Could Become Much Quieter After This Bonfire Night

Why UK Fireworks Could Become Much Quieter After This Bonfire Night

Updated 20:38 5 Nov 2026 GMTPublished 20:11 5 Nov 2026 GMTPets were left 'petrified' again this year as fireworks and flares blasted into the sky - but there is a deadline of midnightIt's the night that pet owners dread every year as loud bangs and whistles overtake homes during annual Bonfire Night celebrations. And campaigners are continuing to call on the UK government to protect the welfare of wild animals and domesticated pets by cutting the maximum noise level of fireworks sold to the pubic.Bangers, rockets and screamers have long been part of the annual events, however the Government is still considering proposals to cut the noise of the pyrotechnics by up to 50 percent. It will cover those bought in shops for private use, after pressure from campaigners worried about the welfare of animals.AdvertCelebrations traditionally marked by fireworks and bonfires arrive at the end of October each year, which includes Halloween, Bonfire Night and then Diwali, which falls on 8 November this year. The Government stipulates that on Bonfire Night, firework noise must end by midnight. On New Year’s Eve, Diwali and Chinese New Year, the cut off is 1amDomesticated dogs and cats are known for being terrified (Getty)What are the proposals?Earlier this year, the government announced plans to restrict the loudest fireworks to professional displays and clamp down on the disruption caused by explosive bangs from private displays.A consultation proposed targeted reforms to reduce the noise and risks associated with fireworks, which also included reviewing the banned list of pyrotechnic products and considering updates to the requirements for lower risk products. This would impact privately bought fireworks, with around 20 million people each year putting on their own displays, according to industry figures. The government recently consulted on proposals to lower the maximum noise level from 120dB to 110dB, which equate to their loudness being cut by approximately 50 percent. However ministers said previously that an outright ban on the public buying fireworks would not be proportionate."We are proposing to reassess the risk level of certain pyrotechnic products, which could lead to more restricted access to some products," a statement said.In a press release earlier this year, the Government said: "Concerns about excessively noisy fireworks have been consistently raised by local residents, charities, emergency services and animal welfare organisations."Loud fireworks can cause severe distress to pets, livestock and wildlife, with conservation groups warning that sudden explosions can cause panic, injuries and deaths among animals."Fireworks could become quieter in the UK (Jeff J Mitchell/Getty Images)Animal charities hit out at firework noiseHowever the Center for Wild Animal Welfare (CWAW) has said lowering the limit to 90dB would help to protect millions of wild animals from stress.Richard Parr MBE, director of the Center for Wild Animal Welfare, said: "Fireworks can be fun, but they also cause real suffering for wild animals."As well as scaring our pets, loud bangs can terrify wild animals like foxes, badgers, deer, and birds. Ministers deserve credit for taking action."But the government’s proposed noise cuts don’t go far enough. They should go further and cut the maximum noise limit from 120 to 90 decibels."This would make the area disturbed by fireworks a thousand times smaller. This would be great news for our pets, and for millions of wild animals."The RSPCA is also running a campaign to reform firework laws, calling for stronger noise controls and 'firework free' zones.A UK firework display (Getty Stock)"Most animals have a greater hearing range and higher sensitivity to noise than humans," said Lauren Bennett RVN, Scientific and Policy Officer at the charity's Companion Animals Department."From our pets to nearby farmed animals and local wildlife – the bang of a firework can make us jump, but it can quite literally scare animals to death."On social media on Thursday (5 November), users again hit out at the sound of fireworks and how it was impacting their pets."Tonight has been utterly repulsive and my dogs are shaking and petrified! Ban fireworks!," one user wrote.Another posted their dog was 'absolutely petrified', writing: "He's laid in a dark room with the fan on, calming sounds and the calming radio music bless him."Featured Image Credit: GettyTopics: UK News, Politics, Animals

Elon Musk’s response after $446 million midterm spending sparks reactions

Elon Musk’s response after $446 million midterm spending sparks reactions

Updated 14:13 4 Nov 2026 GMTPublished 13:21 4 Nov 2026 GMTElon Musk addresses Democrats win after spending $458 million on midtermsIt follows Musk branding one Democratic candidate a 'creep'Elon Musk splashed out nearly half a billion in donations to Republican candidates in the US midterm elections and has since addressed the Democrats win. The result of the US' midterm elections from November 3 has seen the Democrats take control of the House and the Senate.Despite stepping back from his position as lead of Trump's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in May 2025, Musk has far from washed his hands of getting involved in politics, however.Far from it, the long-term supporter of the Republican Party, pouring a staggering sum of $446m (£330 million) into supporting them.AdvertThe money is the largest amount ever spent by an individual donor who isn't a candidate themselves within a single election.Unfortunately for the Republicans, Trump, and Musk, the Democrats gained a majority and now control Congress, in turn, proving not even large wads of Musk's cash can sway an election.Elon Musk spent nearly half-a-billion on the midterms (Win McNamee/Getty Images)Elon Musk's response to Democrats' midterm election winMusk took to X on November 4 to write: "Guess my election-interfering space lasers didn’t work this time [shrug emoji]."And it's not taken long for social media users to weigh in.One user said: "446 MILLION DOLLARS DOWN THE DRAIN LIL PUP."A second wrote: "By space lasers you mean 100s of millions of dollars.Americans voted against MAGA and the billionaire class."Musk has spoken out following the Democrats' win (X/@elonmusk)"Money can't buy class. The name calling was really lame," another added.Indeed, during the Texas US Senate campaign, Musk turned to name-calling the Democratic candidate James Talarico.Musk branded Talarico 'a creep' and 'a far-left extremist' while also funneling most of his millions donated in support of the Republicans into the campaign of Texas candidate Ken Paxton. It also follows Musk speaking out about the location of his SpaceX and Tesla headquarters being in Texas, writing: "Data centers in space looking pretty appealing right now."In his victory speech following the mid-term results, Talarico reflected: "The richest man in the world, the most powerful man in the world, and the entire Washington DC establishment. David wasn’t as big or as strong as Goliath.“He didn’t have as many weapons, but he had hope. He had faith and he had a slingshot.”There were a number of notable moments from the midterms (Brandon Bell/Getty Images/Megan Varner/Getty Images/Austin Johnson / AFP via Getty Images/Mel Musto/Bloomberg via Getty Images)As to what may happen to Musk's headquarters in Texas? I guess we'll have to wait and see.Either way, Musk is convinced that with the Democrats winning comes the 'end of democracy' as we know it.Sharing his 'biggest concerns' on X prior to the election, Musk urged Americans to vote for Republicans, warning that otherwise the Democrats would:"Make DC and Puerto Rico states to gain a strong majority in the Senate.Open the borders and legalize everyone living in America illegally to cement a permanent majority.Increase the size of the Supreme Court to gain an immediate majority. This would result in America becoming a permanent one-party state and the end of democracy in any meaningful sense of the word."He added: "All that is needed to ensure this doesn’t happen is 51 Republican senators in 2029. That is why you should vote for Republican senators this election. Other reasons are irrelevant compared to this one."As one X user resolved: "Spare a thought for Elon Musk. Moves his business to Texas, his home, spends a quarter of a billion dollars and the Dems are going to take it all and regulate him anyway."Featured Image Credit: Finn Gomez/Getty ImagesTopics: US News, Politics, Elon Musk, Donald Trump
