Erika Kirk Responds After Dave Chappelle Clip Goes Viral New

Erika Kirk Responds After Dave Chappelle Clip Goes Viral

Updated 22:25 8 Nov 2026 GMTPublished 22:10 8 Nov 2026 GMTShe said those who laugh at political assassination are 'beyond disgusting'Erika Kirk has posted on X in what appears to be a response to Dave Chappelle saying he felt ‘better’ about the death of her husband, Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated in September last year.A clip leaked on X that appears to show Chappelle performing at a sold-out Madison Square Garden on November 6 quickly went viral. The clip is under a minute long and it is unclear what he said before or afterwards. The clip appears to show him saying, "I feel f***ed up saying this. It's scary being a public speaker. And I mean look, ever since that guy Charlie Kirk got murdered … and I shouldn’t say this publicly, but I feel better."He added ... "I know I shouldn’t say that, but it’s just a feeling. I didn’t ask to feel this way. I just be driving around like, 'Why am I in such a good mood? Oh!'"AdvertThis is not the first time Chappelle has set his sights on the murdered conservative political activist, reports TMZ.In his December 2025 Netflix special The Unstoppable, Chappelle rejected comparisons between Kirk and Martin Luther King Jr., arguing that an internet personality can’t play the role of a civil rights leader. He said Kirk ‘fundamentally can’t function like’ a civil rights leader.Chappelle has addressed Kirk's assassination before (Photo by Kevin Winter/Getty Images)Charlie Kirk was 31 years old when he was fatally shot in the neck by a sniper while hosting a debate at Utah Valley University on September 10 2025.Taking to X on Sunday, Erika Kirk seems to have spoken out against Chappelle’s comments on her husband’s death. Electrician Tyler Robinson, 23, has been charged with the killing and has pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors are currently seeking the death penalty. She wrote, “To see leftist podcasters, comedians, and commentators laugh about political assassination as though it’s entertainment and the destruction of a human life is a punchline, is beyond disgusting. She continued, “My husband, Charlie Kirk, was killed in an act of political violence, something our two children and I will live with every day for the rest of our lives.Erika Kirk explained how a culture that “laughs at assassination is one of profound moral decay.”Kirk was killed while hosting a debate (Photo by Justin Sullivan/Getty Images)She argued “It threatens the very foundation of our country and the principles that hold our democracy together.“You do not have to agree with someone’s politics to recognize the value of their life. She concluded “This should not be so hard. Political violence must never be something this country tolerates, excuses, or celebrates.”Other public figures also commented on the clip on X.Elon Musk wrote, “Shame, shame, shame on Chappelle.”Piers Morgan argued it was “especially egregious given that Chappelle himself survived an attack on stage in 2022.”Meghan McCain penned, “What the h— is wrong with Dave Chappelle?!”Chappelle has not so far commented on the clip or Erika Kirk’s X post. Unilad has reached out to Chappelle’s representatives for comment.Featured Image Credit: (Photo by Grace Hie Yoon/Anadolu via Getty Images)

UK Military Chief’s Stark Russia Warning Draws Urgent Attention New

UK Military Chief’s Stark Russia Warning Draws Urgent Attention

Published 16:22 8 Nov 2026 GMTHe said the government needs to do more to explain the risks to the publicSir Richard Knighton, Chief of the Defence Staff and the head of the British armed forces, has warned that 'this is the most dangerous period I’ve known in my adult life'.He was born in 1969 so he's seen quite a bit in his adult life, but he's argued that the present is the most dangerous of all times he's been in.Speaking to the Financial Times, he identified that the threat to the UK was 'principally from Russia' but was rising around the world. He said: "We’re talking about targeted assassinations, we’re talking about sabotage, we’re talking about cyber attacks. These are very real, real things [by] the Russian state we have proof of in Europe and to some extent in the UK."AdvertTerms like 'hybrid attacks' or 'grey zone' warfare have been used to describe the situation where a state is launching operations against another country but trying to do so below the level that would provoke open retaliation.Sir Richard Knighton (left) has said this is the most dangerous period he's known in his adult life (Leon Neal/Getty Images)However, Knighton believes the danger has outgrown such terms and that Russia now has more of an 'appetite for risk', and in response the UK needed to catch up to other countries in Europe which were more aware of and prepared for the threats facing them.He argued that the government needed to do more to explain the matter to the country 'particularly at a time when the government is asking society to spend more on defence'.Speaking about the UK's part in the future, he identified a need to prevent Russian submarines from targeting international shipping should war break out, and that it should be part of European efforts at rearmament to deter an enemy on the continent. His comments are similar to the ones he made to BBC Radio 4 earlier this year where he said 'the risks and threats to this country are greater than I have known since the Cold War'."It is important that society and all of us recognise and understand that and that may mean that we need to make different choices and different priorities," he added. He said the government should be doing more to explain things to the public (Wiktor Szymanowicz/Future Publishing via Getty Images)The government for their part have repeatedly tried to get the message across to the public that they need to be more resilient, which included developing a stockpile of a few days worth of food, water and supplies should something happen that disrupts supply chains.Last month the head of the army, General Sir Roly Walker, said similar as he spoke of how 'our citizens have got to consent to sacrifices to prioritise defence and security'.Addressing the public, he said: "You didn't know this, but our nation is going to need you.“There was a time that our nation didn't want to think of a time when it would need its soldiers to fight in a war.“Indeed, very soon, the political leaders of this country will start to have a frank conversation with the citizens of this country about just what is going on and where the risk lies.”Featured Image Credit: Leon Neal/Getty ImagesTopics: UK News, Army

Alanis Morissette Draws Attention After Candid Pansexuality Admission New

Alanis Morissette Draws Attention After Candid Pansexuality Admission

Published 11:05 8 Nov 2026 GMTMorissette is currently in the middle of her Los Angeles residency, Butterfly with a Machete.Alanis Morissette was a guest on a recent episode of the Handsome podcast, where the conversation turned to her back catalog. The singer is currently in the middle of her Los Angeles residency, Butterfly with a Machete, a blend of music and storytelling.During the discussion, the 52-year-old came out as pansexual. The show is hosted by lesbian comedians Tig Notaro and Fortune Feimster, along with non-binary screenwriter Mae Martin.AdvertFeimster had told her, "I'm sorry for the men that hurt you, but I'm not sorry for the songs that came from it," and went on to ask, "Did it make you want to be a lesbian at any point?"Morissette replied straight away: "I'm pansexual, so yeah." Taken aback, Notaro asked, "Wait, you're not really pansexual, are you?" The singer, a mother of three, nodded and said, "I am," before Martin added, "Me too!"Pansexual is the term for someone who can feel romantic, emotional or sexual attraction irrespective of a person's gender identity or biological sex. Bisexuality, by contrast, refers to attraction to both males and females, whereas pansexuality also extends to transgender, non-binary and other gender nonconforming people.Morissette has also been open about previously struggling with love addiction and sex addiction, which she put down to being an empath.Alanis Morisette was engaged to Ryan Reynolds for three years before they split up in 2007 (Photo by Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic)Who has Alanis Morissette dated?Morissette tends to keep her romantic life private. Her past partners include Full House actor Dave Coulier, actor Dash Mihok and attorney Tom Ballanco, and she married rapper Mario Treadway, known as Souleye, in 2010.The couple share two sons and a daughter, aged between 15 and six. "There are just so many qualities in him that were slam-dunky," she told UK newspaper The Sunday Times. She added, "If I would talk about something on a date, typically the person would look at me quizzically like I was strange. It was the complete opposite with Souleye. He had zero desire to clip my wings."She dated actor Ryan Reynolds in 2002, and the couple were engaged for three years before splitting in 2007. Reynolds began dating Scarlett Johansson two months after the split and married her 18 months later, before the pair divorced in 2011.Morissette married rapper Mario Treadway, known as Souleye, in 2010, and they have three children. (Photo by Theo Wargo/Getty Images for for Songwriters Hall Of Fame)Why did Alanis Morissette's Howard Stern interview go viral? In 2008, Morissette discussed her split from Reynolds in an interview with Howard Stern. The interview went viral as she tried to laugh off probing questions about her sex life, and she admitted she had needed therapy five days a week to get over the heartbreak. "Therapy's not about the guy... It's about me. It's not about the guy," she said when Stern raised it.When Stern asked whether Reynolds was the type to move on quickly after falling for someone new, she replied, "I can't speak for him, I have no idea."Reflecting on the interview in June, she said, "It felt like the ongoing normalisation of me being invisible."She added that she would react very differently to such intrusive questions now, saying, "I have a million questions I could ask back that would be equally inappropriate."Featured Image Credit: L. Why Rapiscan Airport Scanners Were Pulled After Shocking Privacy Concerns New

Why Rapiscan Airport Scanners Were Pulled After Shocking Privacy Concerns

Updated 11:12 8 Nov 2026 GMTPublished 20:44 8 Apr 2026 GMT+1They only lasted a few years before being withdrawn entirelyThe airport can already be a pretty stressful experience before you're pulled aside by security and forced to stand in a special machine. Even if you're completely innocent, you're probably still concerned about whether your laces have a bit of metal in or if you forgot to take off your watch, but before 2013, you probably had to be worried about something else when going through security. You see, certain airport scanners had to be withdrawn completely after being dubbed 'virtual strip teases', with the Rapsican scanners introduced in the US in 2010 after a failed terrorist attack. And given that some folks can go through scanners at awkward moments, including one bloke who was unfortunate enough to have an erection during his scan, it could be pretty problematic. AdvertIn 2009, tensions were already high around airport scanners due to the 2001 attempted shoe bombing by Richard Reid, in which he tried to detonate a pair of shoes containing homemade explosives on American Airlines Flight 63.Eight years later, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was caught after trying to blow up a Detroit-bound flight using explosives he smuggled in his underwear. The shoes Richard Reid wore on American Airlines Flight 63 which contained explosives (FBI)This backfired, leading him to be set on fire due to a malfunction in the device, with Abdulmutallab being tackled to the ground by passengers and staff and extinguished. In response, the US decided to bring in even more high-tech scanners, picking the Rapiscan ones, which were a staggering $180,000 a pop.Security consultant Will Geddes previously told LADbible: “The biggest problem that obviously the TSA had was if it's body worn and you went through a traditional gate, it would just pick up anything metallic and there was no means of actually looking at the body intrinsically to find out if there was anything body worn.”The full body scanners are no longer in operation (X)Geddes said after Abdulmutallab’s attempted bombing that obviously, 'all the airports went into this action, a sort of tailspin with we've got to get this new security in place now.’He added: “Typically in the States, for federal agencies, the TSA especially, they just buy the first thing that they could possibly get.”The first thing ended up being the Rapiscan scanners, which Geddes said were ‘very invasive’. Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was sentenced to life (U.S. Marshals Service via Getty Images)They showed everything, being referred to as ‘virtual strip teases’ in which TSA officers were able to see people fully naked when they went through. This led to concerns being raised in 2012 around privacy after widespread complaints.Rapiscan were given a deadline in 2013 to update their software to remove this, and as they were unable to meet that deadline, the travel agency released the following statement: “TSA has strict requirements that all vendors must meet for security effectiveness and efficiency.Rapiscan machines were installed in US airports in 2010, but were withdrawn three years later (Michael Fein/Bloomberg via Getty Images)"Due to its inability to deploy non-imaging Automated Target Recognition (ATR) software by the Congressionally-mandated June 2013 deadline, TSA has terminated part of its contract with Rapiscan."By June 2013 travellers will only see machines which have ATR that allow for faster throughput."This means faster lanes for the traveller and enhanced security. As always, use of this technology is optional."Now, thankfully, if you walk through security scanners, they don’t just get a full view of you nude as they could for a few years.Featured Image Credit: XTopics: Travel, US News

Trump Sparks Reactions With $3 Trillion Midterm Loss Claim New

Trump Sparks Reactions With $3 Trillion Midterm Loss Claim

Updated 14:25 8 Nov 2026 GMTPublished 14:03 8 Nov 2026 GMTIt comes after the president claimed the loss was down to the fact 'he wasn't on the ballot'Donald Trump has claimed that America 'took a giant step back in History with the results of the last Election' in his latest Truth Social post.Taking to the social media platform, the president penned: "America took a giant step back in History with the results of the last Election — Even the Stock Market, which has been a 'ROCKETSHIP' under 'TRUMP,' took a one day, 3 Trillion Dollar loss."But have no fear, we will be back, BIGGER AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE! President DONALD J. TRUMP," he concluded the post. It's not the first time Trump has made the claim that the Democrat win led to a loss in the stock market. AdvertSpeaking to reporters in Florida on Friday, he said: “We lost about $3 trillion when they found out that the Democrats did well in the election, rather surprisingly, but that’s the way life goes. It had to do with the fact that we won’t let Iran have a nuclear weapon, so you always have to go with that first.”The president says he 'will be back' (Photo by Andrew Harnik/Getty Images)Elsewhere, he claimed that he would've been more 'unhappy' with if the market had gained $3 trillion.During an appearance at NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre on Friday, he said: “Our country lost three trillion dollars all because of an election. I wonder what that means. If we would have gained three trillion dollars, I probably would have been more unhappy.“But you know what that means? That means that they thought somebody else did well in an election.”Trump once again made the claim that 'we would have won' if he was on the ballot himself. The message from the president comes after he claims the Republican loss was down the fact he wasn't on the ballot. After the 'blue tsunami' win, CBS News: "I feel that I wasn't on the ballot, and there was nothing that could be done about that.Trump claims the loss was down to the fact 'he wasn't on the ballot' (Aaron Schwartz/Bloomberg via Getty Images)"If I was, we would have won," he insisted.Despite the Democrats taking control of both the House and the Senate following the midterms, Trump, will of course, remain in power, something the White House X account isn't letting Americans forget. After the Republicans' massive loss, a message posted on the account read: 'PSA: TRUMP IS STILL YOUR PRESIDENT,' posted alongside a picture of the POTUS looking firmly down the camera lens.Featured Image Credit: Kevin Dietsch/Getty ImagesTopics: Donald Trump, US News

Alanis Morissette Sparks Reactions With Unexpected Pansexual Revelation New

Alanis Morissette Sparks Reactions With Unexpected Pansexual Revelation

Published 12:22 8 Nov 2026 GMTShe's been married to Souleye since 2010Alanis Morisette has confirmed that she's part of the LGBTQ+ community after surprising a podcast host with her sexuality. The Canadian singer songwriter, who has been married to American hip-hop singer Souleye since 2010, confirmed in a new interview that she's actually pansexual.Although she admitted that she's been hurt by men in the past, with her list of exes including fellow Canadian superstar Ryan Reynolds, she's now confirmed that she's attracted to all genders. The 52-year-old recently appeared on the Handsome podcast, hosted by Tig Notaro, Fortune Feimster, and Mae Martin, where she made the surprising revelation after suggesting that some of her songs were inspired by past heartbrels.AdvertSpeaking about Alanis’ discography, Fortune said: "I’m sorry for the men that hurt you, but I’m not sorry for the songs that came from it."She then added: "Did it make you want to be a lesbian at any point"’ to which Alanis replied, "I’m pansexual, so yeah."She's been married to Souleye since 2010 (Taylor Hill/FilmMagic)The podcasters were clearly taken aback by this confession, which hadn't come up in their research because she's simply never mentioned it before in public. Tig said: "Wait, you’re not really pansexual, are you?"But Morisette, who shares three children with her husband, admitted that she is indeed pansexual. “How did I not know this? Did you know this?” Notaro said, turning to Feimster. “You’re supposed to come into the Handsome podcast leading with, ‘I’m pansexual.’ ”“You know, I like to leave it for the epilogue,” Morissette then joked. “I like to confuse people on the way out. Is it confusing?”Morissette was actually engaged to Reynolds before they split in 2007, as he later married Scarlett Johansson and then his current wife, Blake Lively. The Canadian duo were previously engaged (Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic)The 'Ironic' singer has largely kept her personal life private over the years and although she's been linked with some big names in the past, she's been married for 16 years now and has clearly found the right person for her.In a previous interview, she had opened up about some encounters she'd enjoyed with other women, as part of what she described at the time as 'lesbian experimentation'. She told Howard Stern: “What can I tell you about it? I think it’s a beautiful rite of passage for everyone to play with their sexuality at some point, so I did exactly that. And it was great!”Although pansexuality has been around for a long time, it has only recently come into more regular use, with a flag introduced in 2010 which has helped to improve its mainstream cultural recognition and visibility. So, while she's happily married now, it seems as if Morissette has perhaps always been pansexual and only now feels ready to share the news with the world. Why Keira Knightley Is Unlikely to Return to Pirates of the Caribbean New

Why Keira Knightley Is Unlikely to Return to Pirates of the Caribbean

Updated 18:33 5 Nov 2026 GMTPublished 17:52 3 Nov 2025 GMTA Pirates of the Caribbean reboot has already been confirmed to be in the works, and Depp could be back. Knightley however, won't be. The Pirates of the Caribbean films are set to be rebooted, with Johnny Depp having laid out his demands for a return, but despite Keira Knightley’s huge success since the movie she is very unlikely to appear as Elizabeth Swan again.Johnny Depp recently spoke about his demands for a return to Jack Sparrow, stating that he would only return if it was to send off his character on a better note than his last appearance.Depp has not played the character since Salazar’s Revenge, quite comfortably the worst film of the franchise. The actor also stated that he would be there no matter what if Jerry Bruckheimer asked, saying: “I will go to work with Bruckheimer tomorrow for anything. Doesn’t matter, if it’s Jerry, I trust him. We have a deep friendship.” It was previously confirmed that Bruckheimer is working on a reboot of the franchise, with multiple writers having turned in scripts. AdvertJohnny Depp may be set to come back in the previously announced reboot, but Knightley's return looks unlikely (Disney)Whilst Depp was the star of the Pirates films, earning himself an Oscar nomination in the process, Knightley and Orlando Bloom’s performances as Elizabeth Swann and Will Turner were key parts of the original trilogy, and the films after they departed were far weaker.Bloom has sounded incredibly up for a return in the past, but Knightley had some heartbreakingly negative words for her experience with the films.Over the years, Knightley has spoken out about being ‘taken down so publicly’ because of the legendary movies and how they also really rocketed her level of fame.Appearing as Swann at a young age from 2003 to 2007, the 40-year-old has already made her name in British films particularly before Pirates with Bend it Like Beckham and Love Actually. But her role in the Disney franchise truly granted her global recognition and yet while there are talks of a reprisal of the movies, Knightley’s over it.She starred as Swann in the first three Pirates films. (Disney)Speaking on BBC Radio 2 the star confessed to barely watching the work she’s appeared in even if she’s played some ‘great characters’.And so that includes having not really watched herself as Swann.“What’s wonderful about those films is they have become people's favourites and they watch them again and again and again and again,” she told Scott Mills.“I either haven’t watched them, or I have only watched them once, because it's not a particularly lovely experience watching your own face back at you.”As for Pirates, Knightley admitted: “I have never seen the third one. I saw the second one at the premiere, but I have never seen the third one.”The Pride & Prejudice star said she feels like there’s just ‘too much face’.“Really close up, large face,” she added. “It's just, nobody needs to see that.”Knightley previously said that she underwent ‘many years of therapy’ to help her manage the ‘level of scrutiny and that level of fame’ that came with the franchise. She reckons her 'pirating days are over'. (Swan Gallet/WWD via Getty Images)She once told The Telegraph: “The fame that came with them I just couldn’t handle.“So looking back, would I do anything different? No, I wouldn’t because I’m unbelievably lucky now, and my career is in a place where I really enjoy it, and I have a level of fame that’s much less intense."Knightley also added to The Times: “It's a funny thing when you have something that was making and breaking you at the same time."I was seen as s**t because of them, and yet because they did so well I was given the opportunity to do the films that I ended up getting Oscar nominations for.”She also told PEOPLE that she reckons her ‘pirating days are over’. The star explained: “I think I definitely spent many years doing that and, you know, it was amazing and I’m very pleased to have been a part of that, but I suspect that my swashbuckling days are done."Featured Image Credit: DisneyTopics: Celebrity, Disney, Entertainment, Film, TV and Film

Professors Reveal the Truth About Vitamin C, D and Zinc New

Professors Reveal the Truth About Vitamin C, D and Zinc

Updated 15:02 6 Nov 2026 GMTPublished 14:42 6 Nov 2026 GMTPrepare for a well-known '50-year-old myth' to be well and truly shattered... Two professors have weighed in on the 'myths' surrounding taking various vitamins with the intention of preventing a cold. You can barely scroll a few posts down without seeing the latest pill, drink, or supplement shoved in your face, told if you don't take vitamins x, y, or z, you're sure to get sick. The truth of the matter? Enter two professors to the chat, weighing in on some of the top culprits and which actually helps prevent you getting poorly, particularly in the colder months."Don't go outside with wet hair or you'll catch your death!" It's a phrase most of us will have heard bellowed at us as we ran out to play with our friends outside, so eager to galavant around watching the fireworks, playing in the snow, or whatever other wintery activities were going on.AdvertBut were these words of warning true or are they myths? Well, social media embodies your mother's shrill caution but on an ever wider scale.Vitamin C, D and Zinc - we've all heard about them, vitamin C praised with protecting against colds. But which actually help wade off an impending flu?During an appearance on the ZOE Science & Nutrition Podcast, Professor Daniel Davis revealed vitamin c's cold protective qualities are actually 'a 50-year-old myth'.And it's not just tales about vitamin c which needs clearing up either.*Takes the vitamin C out of the basket* (ZOE Science & Nutrition Podcast/YouTube) The reality about vitamin supplements and taking vitamin C, D and zinc On vitamin C, Prof. Davis reflected while it's 'important for health in lots of ways' when it comes to protecting against colds, it's an 'absolute myth'."High doses won't stop you catching a cold," he said. However, if you are supplementing on a 'high dose of vitamin C,' you 'get over a cold on average eight percent quicker'. Although, it's hard to know for sure when people often supplement on more than just one vitamin. With zinc, Prof. Davis voiced he doesn't 'think there's any clear evidence around' it.And when it comes to vitamin D?Supplements only work really if you're deficient in something (ZOE Science & Nutrition Podcast/YouTube) Professor Tim Spector explained the 'data changes' but 'at the moment' there is 'some weak evidence that if you have high vitamin D levels you slightly reduce your risk of getting respiratory infections by about 10 percent or so'.This was echoed by Prof. Davis, who noted while the advantage is minimal, the NHS does actually say people 'could supplement themselves with vitamin D' during the winter months."Everything else, slightly depends on whether you're really deficient at the beginning," Spector added. "[...] There's very little data to show that if you've got normal levels that supplements really, really help you and prevent an illness."So how can you actually decrease your chances of catching a cold?Professor Davis confirmed we are all more likely to catch a cold in the winter months, explaining viruses 'are able to survive longer when it's cold'.But the key to putting it off as much as possible lies within your diet."If you have a healthy gut, then you're much more likely to have a healthy, well-balanced immune system," Prof. Davis said.He adds: "Mucus is also a key part of your defense. Mucus contains a magical concoction of different kinds of molecules, including things that directly kill viruses."Featured Image Credit: Getty Stock Topics: Food and Drink, Health, Science

Metformin Users Warned About a Side Effect That Can Disrupt Daily Life New

Metformin Users Warned About a Side Effect That Can Disrupt Daily Life

Published 17:30 7 Nov 2026 GMTMetformin is prescribed to millions of people around the worldA pharmacist has given advice to those on metformin who might be struggling with a particularly bothersome side effect of taking the drug.Metformin is one of the most popularly prescribed drugs in the world as it's mostly used to treat Type 2 Diabetes and there are around 120 million people taking it on a regular basis. It helps the body process blood sugar when insulin is low and can also help people struggling with their fertility due to polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).Like pretty much any drug it comes with some side effects that a few people taking it are going to experience, and a pharmacist has identified some toilet trouble which people could end up in.AdvertRaj Patel, a pharmacist who takes to TikTok, explained that metformin 'can cause nausea, diarrhoea or tummy pain', with it being particularly pronounced at the start of treatment 'or if they increase the dose'.Metformin can have you wanting not to stray far from the loo (Scott Olson/Getty Images)"For many people, that settles as your body adjusts," he reassured those concerned that they might need to make a mental note of the nearest loo's location."Taking each tablet with or just after food can really help"At least that way it's not too far removed from food and if you're somewhere you can get something to eat then there's a decent chance you're also in a location where there's a loo.Patel suggested that if you notice you're feeling the symptoms which tally with the side effects and planning your day around the next toilet stop then 'your medicine could be part of the problem'.His advice was to give it some time for your body to adjust, but if the problems persist or keep coming back then you should have a word with your doctor about it.The problems should pass with time, if they don't then talk to your doctor (Scott Olson/Getty Images)Given it's a significantly popular drug taken by many there's been a lot of research into the effects metformin has on the human body. Some studies have indicated that it could help boost the brain's operations in an unexpected health benefit that could enrich your noggin on a level comparative to exercising regularly. That's no excuse to slack off the hard work, but additional benefits have shown up in research.Side effects of metforminBoth the NHS and Diabetes UK stress the importance of taking metformin with food to help with any nausea the medicine may cause. The medicine may also cause vomiting, diarrhoea, stomachache, loss of appetite and a metallic taste in the mouth.A longer-term side effect of metformin (particularly at high doses) is lower levels of vitamin B12 (which helps keep red blood cells and nerves healthy).Severe side effects of metformin are rare but they can happen. If you’re taking it and get a general feeling of being unwell with severe tiredness, fast or shallow breathing, being cold and a slow heartbeat, you must call your doctor or 111 straight away. The same goes if the whites of your eyes or your skin turn yellow, as this can be a sign of liver problems. And in rare cases, some patients may have a serious allergic reaction to the medicine. You should call 999 if you display signs of anaphylaxis, such as your lips, mouth, tongue or throat becoming suddenly swollen or struggling to breathe.Featured Image Credit: Getty Stock PhotoTopics: Health, Lifestyle

Trump Reveals Whether He Can Stop Insulting Democrats for Six Months

Trump Reveals Whether He Can Stop Insulting Democrats for Six Months

Updated 18:38 7 Nov 2026 GMTPublished 18:34 7 Nov 2026 GMTThe president's first sit-down interview since the Republicans' heavy midterm defeat is set to air on SundayPresident Donald Trump is known for speaking his mind, but he has indicated that he is willing to bite his tongue to get deals done with the Democrats.Earlier this week, the Democrats took control of both the House and the Senate following a landslide midterm victory, meaning Trump will need to work more closely with the opposition if he wants to get legislation passed. But can he stop insulting them in order to do this? He thinks so."Do you think you could work with the Democrats without insulting them," 60 Minutes, correspondent Ross Douthat asked President Trump in an interview set to air on Sunday."Yeah, sure I can," the president replied.AdvertThe president's first sit down interview since the midterms will air on Sunday (60 Minutes)However, Douthat didn't seem too convinced, as he asked Trump: "You sure?"The 70-year-old seemed to prove the doubts correct with his following sentence, in which he went back to insulting his opposition."I also call many of them 'Dumocrats,'" he added.Douthat then questioned once again whether the president could go just six months without insulting his opposition, to which he responded: "Very easily."Elsewhere, Trump was questioned about his comments towards Texas' James Talarico, who became the first Democrat to win a US Senate seat in the state since 1988, defeating Republican Ken Paxton. The POTUS referred to him as 'Talafreako' a number of times during his campaign, something he boldly admits to.Trump was asked about his comments towards James Talarico (Photo by Brandon Bell/Getty Images)The interview, which will air on CBS and Paramount+ at 7 p.m. ET Sunday, is Trump's first sit down since the Republican loss. However, it's not the first time he's addressed the loss publicly."I wasn’t on the Ballot and if I was, we would have won IN A LANDSLIDE!" the US leader wrote on his Truth Social platform. He later said in an interview with CBS News: "I feel that I wasn't on the ballot, and there was nothing that could be done about that.""If I was, we would have won," he insisted, once again.Despite his many insults, the president went on to congratulate his opposition. "My message is, congratulations to the Democrats, and I look forward to working with you for the good of our country," he added."I have total veto power and I'm sure we'll be able to work things out," he continued. However, the president couldn't help but add another comment towards the party, adding that if they don't want to work with him he would 'just veto everything and they're not gonna want that.'Featured Image Credit: Kevin Dietsch/Getty ImagesTopics: Donald Trump, Democrats, US News
