Why Selective Service Changes Are Drawing Attention in Six US States New

Why Selective Service Changes Are Drawing Attention in Six US States

Published 14:38 30 Oct 2026 GMTFrom December, eligible young men will be automatically added to the military draft poolSix US states will now be required to automatically register eligible men for the Selective Service as of December, with failure to register potentially carrying felony consequences. From December 19, all eligible American men aged 18 to 26 will be signed up by default into the military draft register, marking the first time such a measure has been implemented since February 1973, during the Vietnam War.The majority of US states and territories already have automatic registration procedures in place, with 46 doing so according to the Selective Service System’s 2024 annual report. However, states without existing default registration procedures will now be brought under the new nationwide system.AdvertThese include Oregon, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Wyoming, Maryland, and Nebraska, where mandatory registration will now apply to green-card holders, refugees, asylum seekers and undocumented men.As per the SSS, men must register 'within 30 days of (their) 18th birthday', and further explain that it is a felony to not do so.Changes have been made to the policy. (Scott Olson/Getty Images)It’s also a violation of the Military Selective Service Act, which could lead to imprisonment of up to five years, and a fine of up to $250,000.Democratic Rep. Chrissy Houlahan, who sponsored the automatic selective service language, told CNN: "Making registration automatic, not only saves taxpayer dollars by eliminating the need to advertise but finally ensures that young men are not unknowingly penalized."And the plans to do so were outlined in the annual defense policy bill that was signed into law late last year.Up until Decemeber, the process varies by location. The process currently differs by state. (Herika Martinez / AFP) (Photo by HERIKA MARTINEZ/AFP via Getty Images)In states such as Arizona and Delaware, as well as Washington. DC, eligible men are registered with Selective Service when applying for a driving licence or other state-issued ID. New York takes a different approach, giving eligible applicants the option to sign up for the draft register as part of their driving licence application. What would happen if the US reinstated the draft?Should the US ever reinstate military conscription, eligible men would not automatically be sent into service. Instead, Congress, along with the President's administration, would first need to authorise a draft, before a nationwide lottery determined the order in which registered men would be called up. Those selected would then undergo medical and mental assessments, with some potentially qualifying for exemptions or deferments before being formally inducted into the Armed Forces.Women are not eligible for the draft, though they can still enlist in the regular US armed forces to serve on the frontlines. Wicker’s Intimate 4DX Scene Leaves Cinema Viewers ‘Forever Changed’ New

Wicker’s Intimate 4DX Scene Leaves Cinema Viewers ‘Forever Changed’

Updated 15:37 30 Oct 2026 GMTPublished 15:28 30 Oct 2026 GMTWicker – starring Olivia Colman and Peter Dinklage – has a near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score Who’d have thought that Olivia Colman starring with a husband out of wicker could be so wild?Wicker follows The Favourite star as a lonely fisherwoman living in a medieval seaside village. Mocked by the locals and unable to find love, she asks a basketmaker, played by Peter Dinklage, to create her a husband out of wicker. Amazingly, he comes to life as a unconventionally handsome and devoted man, played by Alexander Skarsgård. AdvertTheir passionate relationship shocks the villagers and cinemagoers alike, with some witnessing their sex scene in 4dx. The cinema experience is where the seats move and shake in sync with the action on screen, alongside effects such as wind, water and vibrations.Viewers were stunned after experiencing the sex scene in 4dx (Black Bear Pictures)4dx is a cinema experience where the seats move and shake in sync with the action on screen, alongside effects such as wind, water and vibrations.“All jokes aside, the experience was actually so much fun!! In my theater they even had snow come out at one point,” one person commented on TikTok. With another adding: “The vibes in that theater are immaculate.”"I love how it's just a bunch of girls giggling in there," a third said, as someone else penned: "Just popcorn FLYIN ERRYWHERE."At the time of writing, Wicker has a Tomatometer rating of 94%, while the popcornmeter rating currently stands at 92%. One critic called it 'a cheeky remix of Beauty and the Beast, while another said it's 'a delightful fairy tale romantic-comedy that is rich in both fields'.Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, Colman admitted that Skarsgård’s full-body wicker suit actually helped with the simulation. “It actually makes it less embarrassing for me because there wasn’t skin touching,” she said.Colman didn't want nudity in the film (Black Bear Pictures)The actor said it was a conscious decision by the cast and crew to show no nudity on screen, because they wanted to keep it ‘all in our imaginations’.“There’s so much you can unpack in that social commentary: institution of marriage and how silly it can be and what a prison that can be,” Skarsgård said of the film. “It deals with patriarchy and jealousy and social hierarchy that, regardless of gender, we’re all existing in. And how transgressive and how much of a threat it can be if someone disrupts that hierarchy, the way the Fisherwoman does in a way which sets everyone off.”Peter Dinklage plays a basketmaker (Black Bear Pictures)Colman added to The Guardian that the script was completely different to anything she had read before. “You get sent a lot of scripts that you feel you’ve seen before. But when I read this, I was like an octopus. I changed colour and went: ‘Oooh!’” Of the character, she pointed out: “And she’s the only woman with agency. She’s perfectly happy with her life. It’s when pushed that she says, ‘I’m going to **** this up and make a mockery of your beloved convention of marriage.’ Then she gets this kind, beautiful creature, and suddenly the world is even more joyous.”Featured Image Credit: Black Bear PicturesTopics: Film, TV and Film, Entertainment

Ohio Daycare Owner Sentenced After Infant’s Suffocation Death New

Ohio Daycare Owner Sentenced After Infant’s Suffocation Death

Inset: Melanie DiMarzio (Stark County Sheriff's Office). Background: The Ohio home where DiMarzio ran her home daycare (WOIO).A 46-year-old former daycare owner in Ohio is headed to prison over the death of an 8-month-old boy, who suffocated after she put him down for a nap in a bed rather than in a crib.Common Pleas Court Judge Chryssa Hartnett on Tuesday sentenced Melanie DiMarzio to five years in a state correctional facility after she pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree involuntary manslaughter and one count of endangering children in the death of Grant Simmons, court records show.In exchange for her plea, prosecutors dropped an additional charge of first-degree involuntary manslaughter.According to a criminal complaint obtained by Law&Crime, officers with the Village of East Canton Police Department on March 10 responded to a home on South Market Street for a medical emergency call involving an infant. The victim was unresponsive when first responders arrived and transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the facility.Police discovered that DiMarzio was providing childcare at the residence despite lacking a license for the operation. In its complaint seeking to shut down the business, the village said DiMarzio told investigators she typically watched between five and 10 children for about $45 per child per day, paid in cash. The complaint alleged that the home lacked appropriate supervision and sleeping arrangements for infants and toddlers. It also said DiMarzio had "difficulty recalling how many children she babysat," lacked current CPR certification and other medical training, had no formal plan for a fire or other emergency, and had no baby monitors or cameras to observe children in separate areas of the residence. At least six children were at the home on the day Grant died, the complaint alleged: Grant, two 23-month-olds, a 1-year-old, a 3-year-old and a 4-year-old. The filing further said DiMarzio told police she did not know the 1-year-old's last name.On March 20, a judge granted a temporary restraining order shutting down the daycare after learning that DiMarzio planned to reopen on March 23, according to a report from Cleveland-based CBS affiliate WOIO. After settling a lawsuit, DiMarzio reportedly sold the daycare.DiMarzio was indicted in July in connection with Grant's death. She initially pleaded not guilty before reaching a deal with prosecutors. At Tuesday's sentencing hearing, Grant's parents described the loss of their son. His father remembered a baby who "always had a smile, no matter what" and "loved life," according to the Canton Repository. He also addressed DiMarzio directly, saying, "I hope your cell is cold."Grant's mother reportedly said she had trusted DiMarzio to care for her son and questioned DiMarzio's remorse by highlighting how she wanted to reopen the daycare on the day of Grant's funeral. The mother further criticized DiMarzio for taking a family cruise after Grant's death and posting "Family is forever" on social media. The judge echoed those sentiments, addressing DiMarzio directly."How tone deaf do you have to be to put that out there?" Hartnett asked the defendant. The judge also told DiMarzio, "You definitely did things that you should not do," the Repository reported.DiMarzio, who did not speak during the hearing, must report to the Stark County Jail on Nov. 9 to begin serving her five-year sentence.

Why Dr Sarah Paine Fears Russia Could Trigger World War III New

Why Dr Sarah Paine Fears Russia Could Trigger World War III

Published 11:59 30 Oct 2026 GMTThe historian claims the leader of this country 'doesn't care how many people he kills'A historian has detailed what country she believes would start World War III as tensions continue through multiple wars across the world. With the situation involving Russia and Ukraine in Europe, as well as the tensions continuing in the Middle East, the world is certainly an ever-changing place.Discussion surrounding a potential World War III is the loudest it's ever been and speaking on a recent podcast, an historian detailed which country would likely start it.Appearing on The Diary of a CEO, Dr Sarah Paine, a historian and professor, claimed World War Three would happen 'if we continue in the current direction of travel'.AdvertSteven Bartlett, the host of the podcast, suggested it would be a Russian invasion of Poland which would start a third World War, which Dr Paine agreed with. The historian then provided an 'obscene' prognosis about what that could potentially look like.Dr Sarah Paine believes Russia could start World War Three (YouTube/The Diary Of A CEO)Dr Paine told Bartlett: "I have no idea (what World War Three would look like). But you can get on a nice computer program, pick your mega tonnage of a nuclear weapon and you can put it over a city of your choice and see how many people die. It's obscene."And that's the problem with having these dark personalities running countries like Putin. He doesn't care how many people he kills."She added elsewhere in the podcast: "We're potentially barreling our way into a world war. We have reckless people running some very large and important countries around the world."I believe that Russia has unlimited objectives, that Putin wants to restore the old Soviet empire."As Poland is a NATO member, the alliance's Article 5 mutual defense clause would be triggered if Putin the European nation. All NATO allies would be bound to their alliance to one another and would have to respond to the attack with their own forces.Article 5 would be triggered if Putin invaded Poland (Sergey Bobylev/Sputnik/Anadolu via Getty Images)The NATO article states: "The Parties agree that an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all and consequently they agree that, if such an armed attack occurs, each of them, in exercise of the right of individual or collective self-defense recognized by Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, will assist the Party or Parties so attacked by taking forthwith, individually and in concert with the other Parties, such action as it deems necessary, including the use of armed force, to restore and maintain the security of the North Atlantic area."Featured Image Credit: The Diary Of A CEOTopics: World News, Russia

The Simpsons sparks shock after Halloween episode’s unregistered URL is hijacked New

The Simpsons sparks shock after Halloween episode’s unregistered URL is hijacked

Published 12:20 30 Oct 2026 GMTOne mischief maker took advantage of a URL that featured in the The Simpsons spooky special Fans of The Simpsons got quite the fright after visiting a website that was featured in the latest episode. It wouldn't be Halloween without us having a new Treehouse of Horror to sink our teeth into and the 36th instalment of this spooky special aired on Fox earlier this week. But this year, it's not the plot of the episode that has left people aghast, but rather the inclusion of a blink-and-you'll-miss-it gag in Matt Groening's sitcom which has now taken on a life of its own. The latest episode of The Simpsons aired on Sunday (25 October), ensuring that fans of the show had plenty of time to enjoy it before the weekend. AdvertThe synopsis for Treehouse of Horror XXXVII explains: "In this year's extra-scary, ultra-spooky Treehouse of Horror, Marge gets a horrifying new perspective on marriage; Bart and Santa's Little Helper embark on a bone-chilling adventure; and Homer takes a driving lesson." The annual Halloween special first aired on Sunday (Fox)At one point during the episode, Lisa and Bart head to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) as they attempt to track down Homer. They arrive to find the building in darkness, however, there was a sign outside which offered some further instructions about how to get in touch. In what is believed to be a gag about some of the shortcomings of the government agency that is the DMV, the sign read: "Visit our website at our-website-is-broken.org." Most people probably laughed at this sarcastic URL and moved swiftly on - but one viewer decided to take it as an opportunity to cause some mischief. Typically, TV and film studios will register the domain names of websites or social media handles that appear on-screen, so that other folks don't lay claim to them. One eagle-eyed viewer spotted the URL and decided to take advantage of the domain being unregistered (Fox)But it appears that the team behind The Simpsons dropped the ball on this one, as 'our-website-is-broken.org' was still up for grabs. So, a prankster opted to take advantage of this oversight by asserting ownership of this domain - and launching a website featuring what social media users have described as 'Simpsons porn'. A host of inquisitive viewers visited the link after tuning into Treehouse of Horror XXXVII and got the shock of their life, as topless images of Marge Simpson’s sisters, Patty and Selma, flashed on their screens. As I'm sure you can appreciate, this content was a lot more unsettling that anything that was featured in The Simpsons Halloween special. According to one X user, it also repeated '67' if you visited the website and turned the volume up, before 'many more pictures splashed on screen'. 'A grand mistake'Needless to say, some viewers won't be able to look at Patty and Selma the same ever again. Discussing the debacle online, one social media user said: "The link in this scene brings you to straight up jiggling yellow Simpsons boobs...what."Another joked: "Man, I really shouldn't have used my work computer to check that."A third added: They made a grand mistake not purchasing the domain beforehand. How did they assume nobody was going to do this?"A fourth dubbed it 'diabolical', while a fifth asked: "An OFFICIAL Simpsons episode that has a link to a bunch of Simpsons porn is absolutely psychotic. How did such a thing even happen?" Fans of The Simpsons said that the URL has since been scrubbed from the episode - and it appears as though the website is no longer active. The bizarre site featured explicit images of Marge's sisters (Fox)LADbible has contacted Fox for comment. A similar situation unfolded following the release of the 2002 romcom About A Boy, as a URL titled 'supermodelswithseethroughtops.com' appeared while Hugh Grant was browsing his computer. Thankfully, this site simply displays a snap of the Popemobile on it - and the bloke who took advantage of this domain remaining unclaimed, known as JR, explained what motivated him. "I checked to see if it was a real site, and I was surprised that it wasn’t registered," he told Film Stories in 2023. "I don’t know if the filmmakers thought it was too long to be real or just didn’t care. I registered it."He went on to explain that he initially 'wasn't sure' what to display on the website, adding: "I considered putting some joke about a Hugh Grant scandal, but then thought the Pope has a super model of car with a see through top so I put up the popemobile.""I thought maybe I could make money with ads on it, but it just seemed too pure of a joke to spoil with anything additional, so it’s just been out there on the internet as a public service for 20 years now."Featured Image Credit: FoxTopics: Adult Industry, The Simpsons, Halloween, Weird, TV and Film

Richard Norton’s Death Draws Attention After Coroner’s Peptide Finding

Updated 01:37 30 Oct 2026 GMTPublished 01:30 30 Oct 2026 GMTAustralian actor and stuntman Richard Norton died aged 75 in March 2025Australian actor and stuntman Richard Norton's death was ‘triggered’ by unauthorised peptide use, a coroner has said.Norton, who worked with Hollywood stars including Margot Robbie, Ben Affleck and Liam Neeson, passed away at Melbourne's Alfred Hospital on March 30 last year, aged 75.Coroner David Ryan has now found that Norton, who was also an experienced martial artist, died after injecting himself with an ‘excess’ dose of unapproved peptides that had been prescribed to him by a doctor.“I am satisfied that Richard’s death was triggered by his injection of the peptide CJC1295/Ipamorelin,” Ryan wrote in the report.Advert“Richard had been taking amounts of the medication in excess of the dose prescribed by his medical practitioner.“The injection caused an anaphylactic reaction which in turn led to cardiac arrest.”CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin are synthetic peptides that stimulate the body's natural production of growth hormone and are typically promoted for muscle growth, weight loss and recovery enhancement.Richard Norton was an actor and stuntman who appeared alongside the likes of Margot Robbie and Chuck Norris (Instagram/@rjnorton70)Norton’s death is reportedly the first in Australia to be linked to peptide use.The coroner recommended the Therapeutic Goods Administration re-examine the risks and benefits of the drugs, and consider imposing stricter guidelines."I am not satisfied that it is appropriate for them to be available to be prescribed by medical practitioners," the coroner said."It is not clear to me how their safe use can be clinically indicated given the acknowledged uncertainties as to their therapeutic benefit and their risks (as yet not fully known) to the safety of patients."Ryan’s report also noted that Norton’s doctor has explained the experimental nature of the peptide treatment and the lack of Therapeutic Goods Administration-approved options for it.The report also stated that Norton signed an informed consent form about the treatment.Ryan wrote: “He disclosed ... that he had been previously prescribed peptides by another practitioner which had been effective in treating symptoms relating to fatigue, reduced physical recovery, shoulder pain and loss of lean muscle mass.”The report stated that on 28 March last year, Norton told a nurse he had been taking more than his prescribed dose of peptides, with the nurse telling him to follow the correct dosage.Just hours later, Norton ‘felt hot and flushed’ before becoming unresponsive and passing away in hospital. He tragically passed away in March last year (Instagram/@rjnorton70)The Australian coroner's ruling comes after a warning was issued in the UK about the sale of 'sketchy' peptides available for sale online. Many of those sold online are not approved for human use by the UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).The head of borderlines at the MHRA, Lynda Scammell, told LADbible: “Peptide products may be sold as cosmetics, supplements and medicines, and depending on their intended purpose, they fall under different regulatory frameworks.“The MHRA determines whether a product is a medicine on a case-by-case basis. This includes consideration of a number of factors including the product’s effect on the body, the way it is used and takes into account all the available evidence and relevant legal precedents.“We disregard claims that products are for ‘research purposes’ if it is clear that such claims are being used as an attempt to avoid medicines regulations. If there is evidence within the promotional material that the products are in fact unauthorised medicines intended for human use, we will take appropriate regulatory action.“If a product is classified as a medicine and is not appropriately authorised, we take regulatory compliance action, including the removal of the product from the UK market where necessary.“Not all peptides fall under MHRA’s remit, for example, many peptides are sold for body-building purposes and in the absence of medicinal claims, these would not be considered medicines.”Featured Image Credit: Instagram/@rjnorton70Topics: Celebrity, Health

Villa Vie Founder Admits ‘I Messed Up’ After Cruise Dream Collapses

Updated 23:11 29 Oct 2026 GMTPublished 23:03 29 Oct 2026 GMTVilla Vie Odyssey founder Mikael Petterson admitted 'I messed up' after 200 passengers were given under 24 hours to leave ship in CambodiaThe founder behind an ambitious "never-ending" residential cruise has publicly broken his silence after 200 passengers were abruptly stranded in Cambodia with less than 24 hours' notice, admitting: “I messed up.”Mikael Petterson, the founder and executive chairman of Florida-based Villa Vie Residences, addressed the sudden operational collapse after travellers who paid up to hundreds of thousands of dollars to live permanently at sea were ordered to pack their bags and vacate the Villa Vie Odyssey in the port city of Sihanoukville.Speaking to Business Insider, Petterson admitted he feels “awful” and acknowledged his personal responsibility for the catastrophic fallout.“I feel awful,” Petterson said, describing the situation as “incredibly deflating” after letting paying residents down. “They’re counting on me to make the decisions here, and there’s nothing else I’m focused on. I’m the villain in the story, but I’m doing everything I can to support the residents on a solution.”AdvertPitched as the ultimate perpetual getaway, cabins aboard the Odyssey were offered for rent or outright purchase ranging from $119,999 to $439,999, promising an open-ended voyage stopping at 147 countries across three years. However, the dream quickly unraveled due to mechanical setbacks and catastrophic surges in operating costs. Petterson pointed to geopolitical turmoil—specifically rising fuel prices linked to the U.S. conflict with Iran—as the decisive factor that crippled the venture. The trip was cut short for 200 people, many of which had paid tens of thousands to stay onboard (Living Life on a Cruise)According to Petterson, marine gas oil (MGO) that previously cost Villa Vie between $600 and $700 per metric ton surged to nearly $2,000 in Singapore and reached approximately $2,200 in Cambodia.Unlike major corporate cruise liners, Petterson explained that Villa Vie lacked the financial scale to absorb the blow.“[Larger cruise companies are] able to hedge and take away some of that risk, but we’re too small of a company to do that,” he explained. Before halting operations, the company resorted to increasingly desperate measures to remain afloat. In April, management asked residents to loan the company money with offered interest rates between 12% and 24%.By September, an official held a meeting asking cabin owners to raise $1 million simply so the vessel could leave Ha Long Bay, Vietnam.CEO of Villa Vie Residences Mikael Petterson at Belfast Port’s Cruise Ship Terminal in 2024. (Liam McBurney/PA Images via Getty)As panic spread, terrified residents began selling off their cabins, compounding the company's financial spiral by gutting remaining vacancy sales.Despite efforts to slow itineraries and spend more time docked to conserve fuel, the company admitted that passing mounting overheads onto residents was impossible. With the ship now laid up, Petterson revealed the company faces either court-supervised restructuring or complete liquidation.“Nobody that’s tried residential cruising has succeeded, and we’ve gone further than anyone else,” Petterson told the outlet. “We just don’t have the financial ability to sustain normal operations for the time being. So we’re protecting the asset and laying it up until we can find a solution going forward.”One couple affected are Lanette Canen and Johan Bodin (Living Life on a Cruise)One couple who have been forced from the ship, are Lanette Canen and Johan Bodin, who swapped their lives in Hawaii more than 500 days ago, to travel the world on board. The couple locked in the cabin for a monthly fee of around $3,500 for two people, with all necessities including food, drink, housekeeping, laundry, WiFi, gym access, entertainment and gratuities included in the flat rate fee. However, despite selling 31 cars to fund their alternative lifestyle, the duo have now sadly confirmed their dream life has now come to an end.Speaking exclusively with UNILAD, Lanette and Johan said: "We’ve just finished packing up and leaving the place we called home for two years."It’s been emotional and exhausting, but we’re grateful for the places we’ve seen and the friendships we’ve made. This wasn’t how we hoped it would end.”Given just six hours to pack up their belongings and depart, the couple admitted it was a bittersweet end to their time at sea, but did concede: "Our life at sea may be over, but our adventures together will continue."Featured Image Credit: AFP via Getty ImagesTopics: Cruise ship, Travel

Addison Bowell Sentenced After Chilling Comments About Runner’s Death New

Addison Bowell Sentenced After Chilling Comments About Runner’s Death

Inset: Ann Seidl (Hulke Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services). Background: Addison Bowell at her sentencing hearing (Court TV).A Wisconsin teenager who fatally struck a woman on an early-morning run has been sentenced to prison.Addison Bowell, 18, was sentenced to nine years in prison plus seven years of extended supervision after she pleaded guilty to four charges in connection with the hit-and-run death of 54-year-old Ann Seidl. Seidl was on an early-morning run on March 29, 2025, when she was struck by a car driven by Bowell, who was 17 years old at the time.Bowell's mother found Seidl unresponsive by the mailbox and called 911. When police arrived, Bowell's mother told them that her teenage daughter had come home drunk an hour earlier.During the sentencing hearing on Wednesday, prosecutors highlighted Bowell's behavior when police questioned her. Bowell told police she "didn't want to deal with this," adding that she had "like 16 underages and couldn't get another one." Police asked Bowell what she drank, to which she responded, "Probably everything," and "It doesn't matter what I was drinking. Completely besides the point."Bowell told police she "drank a lot" before getting into her vehicle that morning and that "I don't know what I hit, and I don't really care." She blew 0.114 on a preliminary breath test and failed multiple sobriety tests. After she was arrested, she asked if anyone had died. When she was told that Seidl had died, Bowell said, "[W]ho walks on the road at 3 in the morning? … like … bro." She also asked, "[S]o, am I going to get out or not?"Police seized Bowell's phone and found that she had taken videos of her car following the crash. She sent the videos to her friends, including one video played at the sentencing that showed Seidl's headband dangling from the car. Bowell was heard laughing and saying, "My door won't open!"When one of her friends asked what she hit, Bowell said she hit another car "so hard."After playing the videos, prosecutor Andrea Nodolf said, "This is all just a big joke. While the defendant can change, and I certainly hope that she does change, the only thing that these videos and her past records demonstrate is a desire for her to fulfill her own selfish needs and a complete and utter disregard for others."Bowell's attorney Michael Cohen countered by saying his client "made it clear she was accepting responsibility. I'm not sure what other actions of responsibility or remorse can be done to express that. I don't know what else people expect, to have someone express remorse or contrition for things that have happened. We don't have H.G. Wells' time machine. We're not going back in time. We're not making this not happen. So all we can do is react to that."More from Law&Crime: 'I drank a lot': Teen mowed down marathon runner 'so hard' then tried to blame the woman for exercising that early, docs sayBefore her sentence was handed down, Bowell offered an apology, saying, "I know that my words cannot undo what happened, but I hope that with my actions moving forward, I can show that I am committed to learning to become a better person."Seidl left behind three adult sons, including one with Down syndrome. Seidl's ex-husband and the father of her sons told the court, "Every day I watch him miss his mom, and I can't help explain to him why she is gone."
