The park remains closed for the foreseeable.Witnesses have described what happened in the moments before he entered the tiger enclosure (SWNS)The Land of the Tigers attraction made its debut in 2011, two years after Yorkshire Wildlife Park first opened its doors. It is on a purpose-built two-acre reserve, so the animals can 'freely roam their woodlands and grasslands or play in their very own waterfall pool', its website explains. It is home to Amur tigers, which are an endangered subspecies. He met the demanding shooting schedule head on with great determination.Always listening to the advice that his TV parents (Anna Gunn and myself) gave him - but being a teenager, sometimes mischievously ignoring the counsel in order to learn the hard way… He was one of the stars of a hit TV show - but still a kid.”Cranston went on to say that Mitte had been ‘pretty raw’ when filming the show’s pilot back in 2007 but that ‘little by little’ he saw him grow into a ‘really fine actor’.“He parlayed his experience on the show to be a vocal advocate for performers with disabilities, and was the head of a philanthropic organization with a focus on helping the disabled community,” he continued. “All that promise and potential now is such a loss.”Cranston said the pair had been texting each other just a few weeks ago and were arranging to meet up for lunch and expressed his sadness that they hadn’t been able to meet up sooner. He wrote: “I do know that I loved him, and thoroughly enjoyed being with him throughout the years on the series, and after the spotlight on Breaking Bad dimmed… I’ll miss you, son.”Featured Image Credit: Sonia Moskowitz/Getty ImagesTopics: Celebrity, Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston

Beatriz Flamini reveals disturbing effect of 500 days alone in cave

Beatriz Flamini reveals disturbing effect of 500 days alone in cave

Published 20:55 12 Oct 2026 GMT+1Beatriz Flamini said she thought she'd only been in the cave for 160-170 daysOn 20 November 2021, Beatriz Flamini headed down into a cave in Granada, Spain. And she did not come back out for 500 days. You might not be totally surprised to hear that during this time in the 70m deep cave, the Spanish extreme athlete suffered a rather terrifying side effect.Flamini entered the age at the age of 48 while being monitored by a group of psychologists, researchers and speleologists. But she had no contact with humans for the whopping 500 days. You might think that would have felt like forever, but she actually told reporters after that she had quickly lost her sense of time – she believed she’d only been there for about 160-170 days when the support team went to retrieve her.AdvertShe emerged from the cave in April 2023. (JORGE GUERRERO/AFP via Getty Images)During the experiment, Flamini documented her experiences in order to help scientists understand the effects of extreme isolation. And at one point, she experienced auditory hallucinations.“You are silent and the brain makes it up,” she described following after emerging in April 2023.The extreme athlete had asked the team to send down a device so she could record the sound as she insisted it was ‘not hallucinations’.Some of the team felt that these ‘apparent auditory hallucinations’ suggested distress and were concerned about her stability. But sports psychologist Débora Godoy Izquierdo told the New Yorker that she did not share the worries for Flamini.Instead, she endorsed that the idea that the team should send more books and puzzles to help her focus. The psychologist believed Flamini had dealt with the hallucinations appropriately ‘even if they might be strange experiences for most people in their daily lives’.During her time in the cave, she exercised, drew and knitted woolly hats while getting through 60 books and 1,000 litres of water. Her balance was off for a while. (JORGE GUERRERO/AFP via Getty Images)“I'm still stuck on November 21, 2021. I don't know anything about the world," she said after exiting the cave.Flamini told the New Yorker that tests at the hospital afterwards came back positively but she continued to suffer problems with her balance. With 500 days down in the cave with normal walking impossible, she was walking unevenly with a ‘stooped’ posture. She also wore sunglasses for a while as her pupils hadn’t readjusted to the bright light.Flamini added to the New Yorker that her short-term memory had suffered and she had lost much of her peripheral vision.Speaking shortly after leaving the cave, she described her experience as ‘excellent, unbeatable’.Featured Image Credit: Jorge Guerrero/AFP via Getty ImagesTopics: Science, Europe

The 50-year-old has been held here for decades, as she was sentenced to death after murdering Colleen Slemmer with her then-boyfriend in 1995.Christa Pike has returned to prison. Her then-boyfriend was spared the death penalty because he was not yet legally an adult and remains in prison. The victim's mum, May Martinez, has called the execution attempt a 'mess'."They didn’t say anything, and then, all of a sudden, they asked all the victims to leave. And we left," she told NBC News.“We didn’t know anything until we got up to the office and saw the commissioner. Why El Niño Could Turn 19 States Into a Winter Storm Battleground

Why El Niño Could Turn 19 States Into a Winter Storm Battleground

Published 15:03 12 Oct 2026 GMT+1Millions of Americans could be set to experience multiple snowstorms this winterThe entire US East Coast could be set for a harsh winter with multiple snowstorms and freezing temperatures following a stark El Niño warning. El Niño's influence on Americans has been relatively limited over the summer, but its wider impact is expected to become more significant as the phenomenon strengthens into winter.Experts have warned that as many as 19 states could be affected by snowstorms which may turn regions into Arctic 'battlegrounds' over the course of the colder months - particularly along the East Coast. The warning has been issued across southern Maine to the tip of Florida, and stretching as far as Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas as well.AdvertOn the West Coast, California is also expected to see above-average levels of rain, snow, sleet and hail.Parts of the US could see significant snowstorms. (Getty Stock Images)Meteorologist Ryan Hall further warned that the South, Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, including Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, the Appalachians, the Carolinas and Virginia could also be in danger, during his September 19 forecast on YouTube. He said: "On my map, this is the winter storm battleground, and this is actually where my forecast has changed the most."I'm now a lot more confident than I was a few weeks ago that somebody in this corridor is going to get a big snowstorm or a big ice storm this winter."El Niño occurs when temperatures in the central and eastern Pacific Ocean rise above average, influencing atmospheric circulation and shifting the jet stream southwards across the US.Meteorologists have issued a warning to Americans. (Getty Stock Images)This can bring increased rainfall, a heightened risk of flooding and heavier snowfall to parts of the southern states, stretching from California and Texas to the Carolinas.Hall added: "It's still a tricky forecast. Washington DC, Baltimore, Philly, New York, Boston. I still like the storm signal and the new outlook runs that wet pattern way up into New England."I think there's going to be plenty of chances over here. But that still doesn't answer the thing that everybody actually wants to know: rain or snow. And I'm going to be sticking with that same coin flip."However, AccuWeather had a different take on the snow situation, claiming that 2027 may actually end up setting records for a lack of snow.Their expert, Paul Pastelok, said in a statement: "It may be more about rainfall this year, coastal flooding, and rivers rising. That’s something you talk more about during the spring, but it could be the opposite this year."Featured Image Credit: Severe Weather EuropeTopics: El Niño, Weather, US News, Florida, California

Doctor Reveals the Crucial Difference Between Vape and Cigarette Smoke

Doctor Reveals the Crucial Difference Between Vape and Cigarette Smoke

Updated 15:24 12 Oct 2026 GMT+1Published 15:05 12 Oct 2026 GMT+1The doctor said that neither is good, but one is still much worse for youExperts have highlighted the difference between smoking tobacco and vaping as a doctor explains which one is worse. The health risks associated with smoking have been well documented by decades' worth of medical studies, linking smoking tobacco to cancer, heart disease, as well as a whole host of other health conditions and heightened risks.Vaping is growing in popularity as a habit in its own right, and while there is still a need for further study on its precise health impacts some evidence already points to the habit coming with health risks.Dr Rayyan Zafar explained that while both smoking and vaping are bad for you, smoking tobacco is still much worse, whether it's cigarettes, cigars, or if you somehow manage to sustain smoking a pipe in 2026.AdvertNHS guidance suggests that vaping can be useful as a way for someone who already smokes tobacco to reduce the harm done to them as a result, but if you do not already smoke then the advice is to not take up vaping as while it has not been shown to be as harmful as tobacco, it is still not safe. The prevalence of vaping and smoking (LADBible)Michael Joseph Blaha is the director of clinical research at the Johns Hopkins Ciccarone Center for the Prevention of Heart Disease, and shared how there is still a risk with vaping.“People need to understand that e-cigarettes are potentially dangerous to your health,” said Blaha. But what exactly are the differences between vaping and smoking tobacco? The health risks associated with tobacco smoke, which contains thousands of harmful chemicals, are well understood. While the risks with vaping need to be studied further, Blaha warned there is already evidence of a link between“Emerging data suggests links to chronic lung disease and asthma, as well as associations between dual use of e-cigarettes and smoking with cardiovascular disease. You’re exposing yourself to all kinds of chemicals that we don’t yet understand and that are probably not safe.”Smoking tobacco is worse, but neither is good for you (LADBible)However there is one factor where cigarettes are the same - they both contain nicotine. And Blaha warned that while vapes are not as closely understood as tobacco, people who use e-cigarettes may be taking in a higher quantity of nicotine than they would be if they were smoking tobacco. For example, people can buy cartridges with a higher strength than regular ones, or they can turn up the voltage on the e-cigarette to give them a bigger hit from the vape. And although NHS guidance suggests that vaping can be a way to reduce harm from smoking tobacco, Blaha expressed concern about people who are taking vaping as a habit in itself, and who don't already smoke.“What I find most concerning about the rise of vaping is that people who would’ve never smoked otherwise, especially youth, are taking up the habit,” said Blaha.“It’s one thing if you convert from cigarette smoking to vaping. It’s quite another thing to start up nicotine use with vaping. And, getting hooked on nicotine often leads to using traditional tobacco products down the road.”Featured Image Credit: Getty StockTopics: News, Health, Vaping

Why This Morning Suddenly Turned Black and White for Anto Shutigin

Why This Morning Suddenly Turned Black and White for Anto Shutigin

Published 13:00 12 Oct 2026 GMT+1The morning ITV show turned black and white as Ben Shepherd and Cat Deeley welcomed their guest from New YorkViewers tuning in to watch This Morning may have been left puzzled after noticing their screens had turned black and white on Monday (12 October). In a show first, the colour was drained from screens for a short period as Dermot and Cat hosted the mid-morning show. But it was not a technical glitch, and rather due to an interview with a guest called Anto Shutigin, who has gone viral on social media several times due to his chromophobia.Chromophobia is a rare condition which means he has a phobia of colours.AdvertFears can also target a single colour, such as erythrophobia, which is the fear of red, or cyanophobia, the fear of blue.Anto, who joined the show on video link from New York only wears or surrounds himself with monochrome items, and has previously shared videos showing his black and white bedroom and monochrome Christmas decorations. The 24-year-old's extreme phobia has forced him to live his life entirely in black and white. He explained how it started out as a child, and how his parents now even only wear black and white around him."Black and white definitely has a level of sameness and consistency that can be less overwhelming" he said. "Rather than a room with a bunch of colours."He said he believed living in New York City was one of the 'driving factors' behind his phobia, adding: "It's so overstimulating colourful and loud."I love coming home to an environment that doesn't have any of that where I can hear myself think better and be more productive."Explaining how the condition first started, he told Ben and Cat: "I've had OCD tendencies my whole life. I'd say that around 9th grade of high school was when this manifested the most.Cat and Ben appeared in monochrome (ITV)"It slowly started with my wardrobe being mostly black. My parents are super supportive and usually only wear black and white around me. If anything, they are proud of how much online success I've had."During the segment, fans were quick to react to Anto’s appearance and the way ITV approached the phobia.“Colour is everywhere! How do you even exist?!” one person commented as another added: "Surely he can still see his own screen in colour?""Taken the colour out of the picture but the strap bar is still colour, make it make sense?!," posted a third.Featured Image Credit: ITVTopics: This Morning, TV, ITV

Soulja Boy Sparks Reactions With Surprise 2028 Presidential Run Tease

Published 01:06 12 Oct 2026 GMT+1Soulja Boy has hinted that he could be running for US president in 2028 after sharing a surprising Instagram post outlining his prioritiesRapper Soulja Boy has teased plans to run in the 2028 US presidential race. Yep, you did read that correctly - the noughties rapper, best known for his hit Crank That (Soulja Boy) has seemingly got a move into politics on his mind. In a post on his Instagram page, Soulja Boy - real name DeAndre Cortez Way - suggested a ‘new chapter’ was on the way and said he was committed to ‘creating opportunities for the next generation’. In the post, the 36-year-old star can be seen dressed smartly in a dark-coloured outfit and plenty of jewellery as he poses in front of a huge American flag.AdvertAlongside the image, he wrote: “A new chapter. A bigger vision. A commitment to creating opportunities for the next generation. My focus is on four things: economic opportunity, criminal justice reform, education, and the future of technology and AI.“From music to business to technology, I’ve always believed in thinking bigger and challenging what’s possible.“Now I’m exploring what it means to bring that same vision to public service.“The future starts with a conversation.”He rounded out his post with several hashtags, including #SouljaBoy2028 #America2028 and #TheFuture. Fans of the rapper were surprised, but seemingly pretty happy, with the teased plans. One wrote: “You got my vote.”While a second commented: “I got a feeling he gone be the first rapper president.”Someone else said: “You know what? Yeah. Hell yeah.”As yet, Soulja Boy hasn’t officially announced his bid to run or revealed if he’d run for a particular party but the post does seem to make it clear he’s got politics on his mind. Soulja Boy’s potential move into politics comes less than two years after he was hit with a backlash after performing at the Crypto Ball - an event held during Donald Trump’s 2025 inauguration festivities. Soulja Boy has teased a presidential run (Prince Williams/WireImage)Hitting back at critics, Soulja Boy said at the time that he was paid well for the gig and showed absolutely zero signs of any regrets. “They paid me a bag. Obama ain't never put no money in my f****** pockets. Kamala ain't never put no money in my f****** pockets. Trump put money in my pockets," he stated. He wouldn't be the first rapper to run for presidency If he does go ahead, Soulja Boy wouldn’t be the first rapper to make a bid to land in the White House. Back in 2020, Kanye West filed a Statement of Candidacy with the Federal Election Commission with preacher Michelle Tidball as his running mate. West, 49, conceded on 7 November after picking up around 60,000 votes for an estimated total of 160 million. However, despite his less-than-impressive share of the votes, West didn’t appear to be put off and that very same week he tweeted: “Kanye 2024.”He then formally announced his plans to run in 2022 and made several appearances on podcasts with the likes of Alex Jones, Tim Pool, and Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes, to talk about his presidential campaign. But by October 2023, the campaign had gone quiet and West’s lawyer confirmed he was not an active candidate. Ben Affleck’s Candid Jennifer Garner Confession Draws Attention

Published 16:15 11 Oct 2026 GMT+1The actor opened up about his ex-wife and how hands on she is with their three childrenBen Affleck admits he often feels inadequate as a parent compared to his former wife Jennifer Garner, shortly after she issued him a warning about one of his upcoming movie's.Garner recently pulled out of the upcoming Netflix thriller Animals after a casting shake up put the former couple in a bit of an awkward position.Affleck was already directing the movie, but when lead actor Matt Damon dropped out, the Gone Girl star decided to take on the role himself.AdvertThis meant he would be playing the husband of his real-life ex-wife in a tense thriller about a rocky marriage.Recognizing the potential media storm, Garner advised against it."I talked to Jen, and she was like, 'We don't wanna do that. You just get baggage'," he told Entertainment Weekly.Garner ultimately stepped away from the project, but Affleck remains in awe of her abilities as a mom.In an interview with TODAY's Willie Geist, he praised her parenting skills while discussing their children, 20-year-old Violet, 17-year-old Fin, and 14-year-old Samuel."Their mom is spectacular, and always makes me feel like I’m coming up a little short," Affleck confessed. Before revealing that he tells his kids: "I think I’m doing about 75 percent as good as your mom - and they’re like, 'Maybe 40 percent'.""I’m maxing out," Affleck joked. "B+."Breaking down their shared custody arrangement, he explained: "I work hard, and then I go home and pick up the kids from school.""We have dinner if they agree to hang out with me," the Batman actor continued. "They’re with me for a week, then with their mom for a week."Affleck has been vocal on his parenting previously, as he shared last year how he and his youngest son went shopping - Samuel asked his dad if he could get a pair of $6,000 Dior shoes.Giving him a reality check, Affleck told the teen: "That's a lot of lawns you gotta mow there.Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, pictured together back in 2014, share three children (Jim Spellman/WireImage)"I'm like, ‘Well, if you want that, you can work 1,000 hours at minimum wage - and if you work 1,000 hours, you might not want to spend it on a pair of shoes."Affleck joked that his son claimed they have the money, but he quickly pointed out that it is actually him who has the money, while his son is broke.Over the few months, the actor's perspective on family has shifted after losing both of his parents, Chris and Timothy."It’s sort of a big thing, and it’s caused me to start thinking about my own childhood in ways that has been a little bit different," he said while appearing as a guest on the Streets We Grew Up On podcast."I learned to be able to look at things that I wish were different about my childhood and say they did their best."They were dealing with their own stuff and their own childhood trauma."Timothy Affleck passed away in April at the age of 76, and his ex-wife Chris followed in June at the age of 83.Featured Image Credit: Mark Sullivan/WireImageTopics: Ben Affleck, Entertainment, Netflix

Published 13:19 11 Oct 2026 GMT+1Hocus Pocus was Omri Katz's big break in 1993, but he left the entertainment industry for something more modestWhile some announcements are nothing but a bunch of hocus pocus, what’s actually true is the lead actor in Hocus Pocus helps people get high, and not with a broomstick. If you know the US, you’ll understand that some states legalised weed not too long ago, with places like California – where Hollywood is based in Los Angeles – leading the way.So, after turning away from his acting days, Omri Katz, who played Max Dannison in the 1993 flick, decided he wanted to get into the business of opening up a dispensary.Katz first got his start in the entertainment biz when he was cast as John Ross Ewing III on soap opera Dallas, and after racking up more than 10 credits in the 90s, he disappeared from view.AdvertUntil now.Omri Katz isn't Max anymore (Disney)Katz was hired in two movies, one short film and 10 television appearances, but according to the former actor, he wasn’t prone to looking back with regret over his choice.Speaking with his Eerie, Indiana co-star, Justin Shenkarow, on the Bronx Buds YouTube Channel last year, he said he had ‘left the industry not too long after Hocus Pocus and kind of never really looked back’.Katz made his last appearance on television in 2002, and revealed he wanted to go more outside of the industry. He explained: "I grew up in the industry, so that's kind of all I knew. I think I was soul searching and wanted more of a human experience; just see what else is out there, see the world, and be normal. I didn't really have that growing up."Some of the things he did includes following The Grateful Dead band on tour for five years, and after having to get ‘a real job’ for the first time, things went on from there: to cannabis. But while he has a totally different life to that of his Hocus Pocus days, that doesn’t mean he forgot about the beloved Halloween flick. For example, back in 2015, he met up with co-stars Vinessa Shaw and Thora Birch, and they posted the selfie online for fans to lose their marbles over. Then this year, Katz, Vinessa Shaw, Larry Bagby, and Tobias Jelinek reunited in Salem to recreate their graveyard scene.“Back to Burial Hill and guess who ran into??!!” Katz wrote on Instagram alongside a video of the scene, as he, Jelinek, and Bagby rehashed their lines.“I don’t even remember whose idea it was. In celebration of Salem’s 400th anniversary, we flew into Boston and carpooled out to Burial Hill to recreate our favorite cemetery scene,” Jelinek told Entertainment Weekly. “It was like stepping back to 1993. Completely surreal, especially because a crowd of fans gathered and cheered us along, speaking the lines with us.”He added: “The best part was surprising fans. It was a special reminder of how much people love this film. The nostalgia just keeps growing. Omri was still a 16-year-old smart ass and Larry still needs to learn to breathe through his nose.”Though Shaw, who played Allison, didn’t join in on the scene, she was there with the group.Anyway, in light of all this, it doesn’t seem like the confirmed third film is any closer to coming out after a The New York Times interview saw creator Sean Bailey hint at its planning. But that was three years ago. So, I beg: Where is it, Sean?Featured Image Credit: DisneyTopics: Halloween, Film, Disney
